Truck wasn’t checked in from the previous return (the night before) at my 10am pickup time. The self-service rental option failed after I did all of the ID steps with a cryptic error message. Only after calling UHaul, and being transferred to 24/7, were they able to tell me what the error was all about. Overall, it took me nearly 45 minutes to pick up the vehicle. When interacting with the gas station attendant, both at pickup and return, they barely said a word. I felt very uncomfortable with the entire transaction. I will never rent from these sketchy gas station U-Haul outlets in the future. Also, the rear tires have sidewall cuts on them, and are not highway safe. Thankfully, my move was a local move.
