The owner is a little shady. He encourages you to get insurance for the Uhaul for any damages and if you declined then he the Uhaul truck gets stolen after less than an hour from the time you parked it. Is was suspicious how there was this one other guy who keeps a look out at the parking space where the truck got stolen. That same person is who I saw hanging out at the gate of the Oakland Uhaul branch. I don’t trust them. The owner, after being informed that the truck got stolen and that the police are on it, only told me that I should have paid for the damage insurance in the first place. He wasn’t worried about anything else. (There was also one Uhaul truck at the opposite side of the road, most likely from Canada judging by the red maple leaf symbol on the plate, that was not stolen and it was parked there for 3 days already.) Be warned, that middle-eastern black owner is not trustworthy. I hope they get investigated.

The computer system was down, which was probably not this location's fault. I was charged for 50 miles on my rental when I drove no more than 15-16. They said they were open until 4p, but when I arrived just before 4p the location was closed and no employees were on premises.
Mikel BVery fast and helpful out of time he was close and help me overtime.
Amelah EKeep the gate open !!! 😇
Anthony BWell the area is really bad and we arrived a little before 9. The owner saw us and didn't give us a greeting only "you here for a pickup" we'll yeah, we aren't here waiting for a table at a restaurant. He then proceeded to open the shipping container slash office and didn't say come on in or will start with the paperwork. The whole interaction was weird and I rented another place in San Leandro the next day in which was completely different. This guy should go shadow the one in San Leandro so can learn about customer service skills. What's funny is this one cost more than San Leandro. I kept the cargo van for 24 hours, put 31 miles and coverage. Avoid at all cost and find another authorized dealer.
