I’ve used PostalAnnex+ Oceanside before for notary services without issue, so I chose this location again to rent a U-Haul. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating from start to finish. I reserved a truck about two weeks in advance. The night before pickup, I spent over an hour trying to confirm my reservation through the U-Haul app and website, which showed inconsistent and unclear information. This created unnecessary stress going into an already time-sensitive move. When I arrived the next morning, I attempted to use the mobile check-in (which is encouraged by U-Haul), but it wasn’t working properly. I went inside for help, and while the employee did process the rental, I was told I should have scheduled my reservation during store hours—and insinuated I didn’t know how to use the app. Like most moves, I scheduled this based on timing and availability I’ve moved 4x in two years and have rented Uhaul trucks; very familiar with using the App. I chose this location based on availability & distance to drive the truck. The situation escalated when I returned the truck. I found my personal vehicle blocked so tightly by another car that I couldn’t access the driver’s side. When I parked my car, there was no one on the left or right side of it. In addition, 3/4 of the lot was empty . When I returned, 3/4 of the lot was still empty, except this car was now blocking my entry into the driver side of the vehicle. When I asked about someone parking & obstructing entry to my vehicle, a different employee at the PostalAnnex walked up to me and blamed me for how I parked. The parking lot is broken asphalt and gravel. Evidently I didn’t park straight enough within the few white lines. Therefore, I deserved to be blocked in. It was aggressive and confrontational. As he continued to talk, I finished unpacking the U-Haul and locking the doors to return the key. Overall, this experience added unnecessary stress to what was already stressful due to the lack of consistency with finding my reservation in the U-Haul website & app - and a 6 hr move. If you expect professionalism and stress free interactions , rent from somewhere else.
