The truck had a dirty windshield, marking the beginning of the worst rental experience I have encountered. I reserved a 26-foot truck online approximately 10 days in advance for 2:30 PM on July 31, 2026, in Energy, Illinois, at Ace Hardware. While the staff at Ace Hardware were excellent, the reserved truck was not available upon arrival. After two hours of attempting to resolve the issue, U-Haul reassigned my reservation to a location an hour away in Paducah, Kentucky. The mileage provided was insufficient for the additional distance, resulting in extra charges. The situation was problematic from the outset. I made the reservation well in advance due to a tight schedule, and based on this experience, I would not recommend this company for time-sensitive needs. Overall, I am highly dissatisfied, as the rental timelines allow no margin for error.

Tim VThe truck I rented was covered ice and snow covering the hood and windshield. I had to break the ice and snow with tool to clear the hood. The truck came with a quarter of tank of fuel which is fine, but I had gotten stick in the parking lot were the truck was parked. It had taken about 15 minutes to get the truck loose through the ice and snow. I used most of the fuel, which I only had 6 miles or so round trip. I spoke to the person that I rented it the truck from, and he thought it was funny what I had gone through all that trouble. I am not happy for the cost I paid to use the truck, and I went through that much trouble to dig it out of the parking area. I will take my business else were next time.
Phillip BMay suggest more than 1 person can handle the Uhaul stuff. That way if the Uhaul primary person at the location has to "step out for a moment" it does not leave a customer waiting for close to 30 minutes, then although it was not necessarily the employees fault, there were some MAJOR issues that, although the politeness and such of the employee is what brought this up to a 3star because uhaul servers failed us and the employee MAJORLY.... to the point he had to call somewhere else just to get an order processed that he should have been able to do in 5 minutes, turned into almost ANOTHER half hour of what was supposed to be a "5 minute pickup" PLUS sides uhaul was VERY cleaned and maintained and again, the amazing help with the car tower the next morning was a HUGE bonus (that brought that hour long wait 1 star review up to a 3)
