Upon pick up of equipment i was given a trailer that clearly had just been in an accident. Three marker lights were ripped off the trailer, the front passenger side fender was collapsed in and there were gashes and rubs across the entire side of the trailer, the entire wheel fender was nearly bent over the tire and they did not bother to bend it back so the fender didnt come in contact with the tire. The fender was bent and destroyed to the point that it sat only an inch from 2 different parts of the tire. I am lucky the trailer did not fall completely apart and the tire didnt blow out along the 6 hour trip i took. I will not recommend this location to anybody.Ruben M.

This has nothing to do with LaFave Automotive, but with UHAUL it self. Very poor communication with UHAUL on the pick up of an auto transport. They sent me to Odensburg, NY first only to travel 57 more miles out of my way to LaFave Auto in Phila, NY. Please note that LaFave's Auto went beyond the call of duty to help me with the auto transport. But very frustrated with UHAUL and the lack of communication.Allen L.

First we had to pick up at a further location and were charged extra mileage fee as a result. This location did not have truck size we reserved. This has been a pattern with Uhaul and will result in our looking elsewhere in the future. Also, truck assigned was so dirty, with mud and sticky stuff on floor, that we refused it. Called a second time, this time to the number given to us for this location, to add our needed days. When I arrived, I was told our equipment was way past due, that the days were not added. Guy quoted me for 6 extra days, when I was returning on fifth day. My husband had to unload the equipment himself rather than how most Uhaul locations, who take care of loading and unloading.SIERRA S.
LaFeve Automotive was fine. My complaint is that I reserved the equipment at UHaul Ft. Drum for pickup. I was not notified that the location was changed. The representative said there was a note on the reservation that someone tried calling me but there was no answer and could not leave a message. Also they said an email was sent as well. I DID NOT have a missed call and my voicemail is working fine. Also I DID NOT receive an email notification. I was very upset. The agent recomended the wrong truck and claused me to make 2 trips. The truck had a flat tire and I was given another truck that was dirty inside and out. After the rental I could not contact the agent and they did not return my calls. I will not use U-haul on my next move.BRENT F.

The person who was working the shift when I picked up and dropped off the truck was very helpful. The other u-haul contact site online was NOT helpful, cooperative, or even aware of what transactions took place! The online person argued with the local rep about cost. Recommendation: have at least one experienced person available on location to handle problems when they arise. We were on location 15 minutes early and were the only customers but waited for over an hour passed our pick-up time for the employee to finish checking out our equipment. She was forced to call her manager, who was not on the site, many times throughout the process in order to figure out how to complete the process. She was very unfamiliar with how to complete our check-in. I had to help her with some of the process. My wife and I hooked up our own trailer and assessed damage and were only given a purchase recept. An experienced employee would have written a statement saying our equipment was set up correctly, free of damage, and clean. Luckily I had rented with u-haul many times before and mentioned it. Other than the inexperience, which caused the excessive wait time, the employees were two very nice people. I just have to say that I am dissapointed as we have chosen to rent with U-Haul over other companies and were surprised at both our pick up and drop off locations.Carl L.

They could not print a receipt for me - they said that I would have to get the receipt when I turned the truck in. He asked SEVERAL times if I wanted insurance and I told him no, that I already had coverage. I asked for confirmation of the charges and they told me correct prices, but then when I turned the truck in, the amount was approximately $100.00 more than quoted. I am STILL in the process of getting this taken care of. The guy at the drop off location said that he knew the charges were wrong, but I would have to contact customer service. I called customer service (the number he gave me) the following day and the lady said she would take care of it and call me right back with the confirmation of credit. She NEVER called back. Then I called again the following day and that guy said there was no record of that on my account and he said he would take care of it but it might take a few days. WHY should it take a few days???? So, I am STILL in the process of getting this corrected so, thus far I have NOT had a good experience with this rental. Contract # 7347309phil G.

tHE YOUNG MAN WHO ASSISTED ME WAS VERY FRIENDLY,EDGAR I BELIEVE. mY DISAPPOINTMENT CAME ONLY WHEN HE TRIED TO ASSURE ME THAT IT WAS OK THAT THE TAIL LIGHTS ON THE CAR DOLLY DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY. WHEN I INSISTED ON A DOLLY WITH WORKING TAIL LIGHTS, HE AGREED TO HOOK ME UP, BUT HIS DISDAIN WAS OBVIOUS. HE THOUGHT THAT OTHER DRIVERS WOULD BE ABLE TO VIEW THE TAILLIGHTS ON MY CAR. (WHAT ABOUT AFTER I HOOKED UP A CAR TO THE DOLLY?)WHEN I RETURNED, AGAIN THE SAME PLEASANT YOUNG MAN WAITED ON ME, THE COMPUTER WAS DOWN ON MY ARRIVAL, SO HE DID CHECK MY RECEIPT AND CONFIRM WHAT MY ACTUAL COST WOULD BE BY MY RETURN TIME. TRUE TO HIS WORD, THAT IS THE AMOUNT I WAS CHARGED. I ALMOST FELT LIKE HE WAS CAUGHT IN A SAD SITUATION, BUT WITH JOBS BEING SO HARD TO COME BY WHAT CAN YOU DO? I DO NOT FEEL THAT GREAT CARE HAS BEEN TAKEN WITH THE UPKEEP OF THE EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE AT THIS U-HAUL LOCATION. AND I HAD TO LAUGH WHEN I WATCHED THE VIDEO ONLINE ON HOW TO HOOK UP A CAR WHEN IT SAID TO REFER TO THE MANUAL THAT COMES W/THE DOLLY. THE VIDEO ITSELF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND I AM SO GLAD I VIEWED IT BEFORE USING THE DOLLY. After u haul guaranteed a 24' foot tuck, it gave us a 17'. Then because they couldn't deliver as promised, they guaranteed 200 free miles, but only gave us 90 causing us to have to pay another $25 at drop off. Will never use again and also filing a complaint with the BBB.JESSICA W.
