Our only complaint is the cab of the 15ft., smelled of cigarettes and the ashtray was full of cigarettes butts. We do not smoke so that was nasty. I will say the process was easy, the gentleman that helped up was extremely nice. I would recommend.
Tracy SIt had been a while since I rented a truck so some of the controls were difficult to figure out especially since very small symbols are used instead of words..Headlights being one example..So a quick tutorial by the sales agent would have been helpful..Fortunately my son was with me so I didn't need to be completely distracted from driving to figure things out..Since many of dont drive vehicles this large on a daily basis it is particularly important to be sure the renter can operate the vehicle as safely as possible.
john sI recently rented a 9-foot cargo van from U-Haul for 24 hours and had a truly excellent experience. I was offered an extended miles and rate promotion, which significantly lowered the cost of my reservation—such a great deal! The staff was incredibly helpful and made the entire process smooth and seamless. The only minor challenge was finding the location, as it’s inside a hardware store (at the Skyway Shopping Center in Plattsburgh, NY), and the U-Haul section is tucked into one half of the store. Once I located it, everything else went perfectly. U-Haul has streamlined their process impressively. The vehicle checkout included an online link to verify details, upload pictures, and follow clearly written instructions. They even had extra stickers and guidance for things like the gas refill, which ensured there were no surprises. Every piece of information was accessible and easy to follow. This was hands-down one of the best rental experiences I’ve had. If you’re in the Plattsburgh area, I highly recommend this U-Haul location. Trust me—you’ll appreciate how easy and cost-effective it is.
