Great team, thanks!

This location turned a would-be one-star experience into a five-star one. My cargo van pickup started off on the wrong foot when I arrived at the location I'd originally reserved with and customer service couldn't verify my identity via the app (stupidly, because of a sticker the DMV had placed on my license to update my address.... which had worn and become illegible.) I'd called and was repeatedly placed on hold, transferred, accidentally hung up on... then finally someone told me that I had better just visit the Columbia location and talk with someone in person. The folks at this location made up for my trouble. My van renewal came out under the cost that had been estimated, and the crew was able to install a hitch on my car (a service I hadn't even realized U-Haul provided) while I borrowed the cargo van... also coming out less than the initially quoted price. Super friendly, top-notch customer service... I had an awful experience with the app, but would whole-heartedly recommend an in-person rental or service at this location.

This is the best U-Haul in Portland. Clean and helpful.

The N Columbia location was terrific. We originally had a truck booked at a U-Haul located at a 76 gas station off N Killingsworth but the U-Haul representative didn't show up and the customer service line kept disconnecting when I would call U-Haul for help. We finally changed our reservation online to the N. Columbia location and were very pleased with how professional and timely the process was.

My truck had 5/8 of a tank full of gas. I was told that if I fill it up to the same amount when I return it would be fine. When I dropped it off I was charged additional price for gas.

The employees were friendly and helpful. When they discovered that I had the wrong trailer connector end on my van, they designed and manufactured an adapter with two female ends to connect the two male ends. Also, despite being very busy at the time, upon returning the trailer the employee took note when I told him that I had to add air to one of the tires and explained to me why the tires did not match. This was my first experience renting a trailer from U-Haul, and I was impressed with how well the trailer followed in my vehicles tracks and how well it kept the weight off my vehicle's suspension, when evenly loaded. I also learned a considerable amount from reading all the information available online about Max hitch weight, the correct ball height for your trailers, and measuring the tongue weight by measuring the height of the trailer hitch at the ball loaded versus unloaded.

The person who signed us in did not speak clearly, he mumbled and spoke very fast. He was difficult to understand. Later, when I called him to ask what to do about my rental truck being stuck in the mud, he failed to tell me that I could use the Traction control feature to get out of the mud. ( I've never owned a pickup truck, so I don't know about this feature.) When the tow truck came to help, the tow truck driver simply used the Traction control feature and drove the truck out of the mud, no towing or winching needed. That lesson cost me $120. When I arrived to return the truck in the afternoon, there was no one in the office. It was open, but empty. I called into every room, trying to find someone to check me in, and almost left the truck there, since I didn't have time to wait and see if anyone would ever show up. Someone appeared finally and said nothing, no apology for making me wait. SO, this whole experience could have been much better.

Rates keep increasing. A higher mileage allotment for one-way, but the aggravation is fueling several times because trucks are not full at pick-up.

Great experience. I did three separate rentals over the past week and all were excellent. Very easy to do business with. I have no reason to ever call Penske again, I'll be back to rent from UHaul in the future.

Extremely dirty cab. The inside was filled with hair from some type of animal. Fortunately I did not have an allergy because there was tons of hair.

Was Told there was a Half tank of gas and that I would have to return it with the half tank of gas when I got in the car that was not quite a half tank. I returned it with a half tank. I feel a little cheated because of this. Otherwise things were just fine

This location was okay. The instructions about returning the truck with gas to the quarter mark was very confusing but otherwise it was easy enough to rent. We originally went to the U-Haul on Killingsworth and Martin Luther King Boulevard at the 76 gas station. We literally spent an hour or an hour and a half with a little Mexican guy and the guy from the 76 gas station trying to rent us a van and we patiently waited for literally over an hour and at the end of the time we found that he didn't have the truck that we wanted and also some lady who he could not contact in Texas had canceled my reservation because the little Mexican guy took my phone number down wrong and that was the end of the cancellation because I couldn't contact me apparently. That was probably one of the most bizarre and Mindless rentals at ever tried to make with anything in my 40 Years of Living. So we were very lucky to get to the other Uhaul place with 5 minutes to spare in order to rent a van for 2 hours. From that experience there is no way in hell I would ever use uhaul again and would never recommend them to anybody when there are much better competitors like Enterprise or Home Depot.

The person accepting the return was friendly and cheerful even though he had to work on Thanksgiving. The check-in process was fast and easy. Thanks!
