I hooked up my reserved auto transporter and had the attendant come out and check the trailer and the connections before I left the lot. He advised that everything looked good. I drove to another town where I loaded my vehicle on the trailer and began my one hour trip to the garage. At about 45 mph, I noticed that the trailer became unstable and I noticed a slight side to side sway but it was manageable. I made it about 20 miles before one of the right side trailer tires had a blowout. It was the front tire on the right side dual set. I had to drive about two more miles to find a good place to get off the road. I called for roadside assistance and had to wait a little over an hour for help to arrive. I was in a rural area so I was not surprised about the response time. The mechanic changed the damaged tire right away. With the new tire installed, it was very obvious that the other tire was low. There was a concern about the low tire pressure on the other trailer tire on that side so the mechanic also replaced that one. The two tires on the other side of the trailer looked adequate. I continued back to my garage, unloaded the trailer and returned the trailer to where I picked it up. The attendant was advised about the low tire pressue and the need for the roadside assistance call. I have rented from Uhaul many times in my life and have been very pleased with the service until this "adventure". My faith and confidence in Uhaul's equipment has been shattered.
