It took forever to check out the truck. Anytime a customer came in to buy a cigarette or a soda. I got set aside and had to wait. Returning the truck was also time-consuming in the same fashion, as well as in addition to that that store owner didn’t correctly understand the final billing receipt. There was a hold placed on my account for $116. The receipt said amount to collect from held funds was $89. to me. That means that I get a refund of $27 but to the owner of the store that meant he needed to collect another $89 from me. we went back-and-forth on that for quite a while and had to wait through at least three customers during that time who wanted to buy a black and tan mild cigarette. And a beer. But it wasn’t only just this location. Everything U-Haul had resulted in a miserable outcome from Central command, setting a pick up location that I didn’t request and without even asking and then having a manager, call me to say it has been changed to my preferred location. Then after arriving at my preferred location learning that the app that I downloaded still reference to my pick up location, incorrectly, and central command, not being able to change it. I was standing right next to the truck that had been prepped for me at my preferred location and I’m being told that I’ve got to drive 9 miles out of my way to pick up the truck that I want at a liquor store. That’s not just 9 miles. That’s 9 miles times four trips plus gasoline at U-Haul seven dollars a gallon rate plus hours on the phone trying to get it figured out. I called to complain and I was told that I would receive a $50 credit to my account which I hadn’t seen and when I questioned it I was told sorry for the confusion you will receive a $50 voucher on your next purchase from U-Haul. That will not do. When I complained about that I was told that I would receive a communication from a manager within 72 hours. I have not received any communication so far. Nor have I received the $50 voucher. Nor have I received a proper receipt. Nor have I received a transcript of the communication that I was promised. It’s not looking good for U-Haul. I would not recommend. Unless you are sadistically looking to give yourself a headache.

Jeffrey MI had rented a transport trailer for one day, I picked it up at 2:15pm on a Thursday and had until 2:15pm Friday to return this trailer. On Friday morning I received a text claiming that because they have another customer lined up that they needed the trailer back before my time was up mind you it was 10am on Friday. They then proceeded to tell me that because I didn’t return it at 10 am when they randomly lined up another customer that I would be charged a late fee.. I showed him the receipt that THEY had sent me and after he argues on the phone with his boss he says he isn’t gonna charge me a late fee. I look at my bank account to see what they charged me and they purposely charged me twice, I went inside the store and told him you can’t charge me twice and you know what you were doing and he told me to dispute it online if i have a problem. I WOULDNT recommend these guys. completely unprofessional and now i have to dispute this double charge. All I wanted was to rent a trailer and be able to use it for the day i paid for.. I still was early with my return as i returned the trailer at 1:30pm and i had until 2:15pm.
caden dThe truck was dirty, and there was some guy sitting in the back rolling a blunt. The store owner seemed to know about the guy hanging out in the truck. The equipment wasn't in it, we had to load the utility dollies ourselves. Totally sketchy experience.
