Dear U-Haul Customer Service I am writing to formally complain about the charges and the poor customer service I received at the U-Haul location where I rented a 15-foot truck. When I rented the truck, I was given an estimated total of approximately $130, with the understanding that this was the maximum estimated amount. However, when I returned the truck, I was charged approximately $260. I was told that additional charges included approximately $60 for gas and a $30 service fee, along with other additional charges. The issue is that the gas was not handled properly by the staff at the location. The workers failed to ensure that the truck was properly refueled, and I was subsequently charged for it. I do not believe it is fair to charge me these additional fees because of an issue caused by the staff. I am also very disappointed with the customer service at this particular location. When I tried to discuss the charges and get an explanation, the staff were extremely unhelpful and provided very poor customer service. I would like U-Haul to review my rental agreement and final invoice, explain why the total increased from the estimated $130 to approximately $260, and refund any charges that were incorrectly or unfairly applied. UHaul equipment was good, clean, easy to use. UHaul relocated my original location, which is fine. But UHaul changed the name on the new reservation details and I was unable to complete the pick-up process via the UHau lApp nor in-person. The in-person representative (Convenience store owner/manager) had to CALL UHaul customer service so I could correct the reservation details. I would not recommend using UHaul from 3rd Party locations so IF any issues occur they can be resolved by a direct UHaul rep. Not a 3rd party rep who then has to call a UHaul rep.
