This is an unmanned location and you have to use the UHaul app to return the vehicle. I am not good with technology so I called the help line. Todd VERY patiently walked me through the process and go the app loaded on my phone. It was super easy after the, but, I could not do it without his help. TODD ROCKS!

DEBRA RWhen I went to pick up the vehicle, Uhaul's server was down, so it was impossible to check in both for the location staff and for me, trying to use the website and app. I called customer service and the phone call kept getting dropped--after an hour and a half of trying, I went to the Gearhart location for help. It was there that I learned the server was down, and they offered to call me when the system was functioning again. Once things were working again, I went back to the Seaside location and they were able to help me without any other issues. But the experience was frustrating and our moving plans came to a halt for several hours between the server being down, waiting for it to come up, and having to drive back and forth to Seaside, Gearhart, and then back to Seaside. It would have helped if we had known the servers was down upfront because we could have done other prep while waiting for the truck.

Max MGorilla Gas U-Haul, Seaside, OR. I parked in front of the posted return sign. Large, unmarked lot. I was finishing the drop-off protocol when the owner (I presume) pulled up rolled down his window and began to yell at me that I can't park there. He said I had "no common sense" and "must be stupid". Mind you, there was plenty of space and a staff member was watching me park and take pics for the app the entire time without mentioning that I should park elsewhere. I responded to the anger with, "ok, I dropped the keys in the lock box, so if you open it, I can move the truck anywhere you would like". He just stepped out of his vehicle and continued to yell. Fortunately, the staff member stepped in to open the box and let me know where to move the truck. The staff member was helpful and obviously embarrassed by his employer's behavior. That's a pretty horrible look for you guys. If he wants the vehicles in a specific spot, it would be easy enough to note that on the posted return instruction sign. That went beyond horrible customer service. If I were a more hot-headed person than I am that situation could have easily escalated to violence.
