Truck was returned after hours. New procedure required by uhaul for after hours return meant that you have to go to uhaul.com, login and follow return-truck links. My login did not find my reservation. Phoned in to haul and was passed around to FIVE different people and put on hold for 30+ minutes before finding someone that could solve the problem. It was late. We'd been moving for two days. Wife and 8 month baby waiting for me in our car. the whole process took longer than an hour. There was a key drop box at the location and signage on that advised that it would be simple to return the truck by dropping the key there. Uhaul informed me that doing so would add $20 to the bill. Signage at location did NOT state that. So then my two experiences with uhaul customer service, one where they could not answer questions about insurance and the other about not being able to fix my reservation for after hours return, shows that although haul has plenty of people to answer the phone, few really know how to work their system.

I had to wait over 10 minutes for the customer ahead of me - and they were started before I got there, the check-in process takes too long.

The mileage on the vehicle did not match the mileage on our paperwork and we were overcharged (by a mile). They were not able correct it when we turned in the vehicle and we would have to contact the manager, etc -- too much work for us, but shouldn't have happened). This is a very well run Uhaul location (we also have storage there). The staff there are really great! We love them!

The staff are unhappy with their work and with each other. They struggle continuously with the IT. The customer experience is pretty awful.

I think a lot of the U-Haul experience is built around repeat users, or users who know how it works. This was only my second time using a U-Haul, and I had a lot of questions that I had to figure out myself.

Not very helpful at check-in; seemed very distracted and not interested in doing a good job.

This location did a good job handling last minute trailer reservation over an extremely busy Labor Day weekend. Even worked through wiring issues until resolved.

The mileage I noted when returning the vehicle is NOT what was on the final bill. Uhaul added 4 miles to the mileage. I would recommend they have customers sign off on the vehicle when returning so there is no discrepancies.

I had rented a Uhaul pick up truck on 1st September 2019 from 600 Mystic Valley Pkwy, Somerville, MA- 02144, under the Contract number: 25241209. When we picked up the truck from the above-mentioned location at 9:11 a.m., we were in a hurry to take out the vehicle to our destination, as you must be aware of the chaos in Boston city on a move-in day (1st September). In the process, we missed out on taking pictures of truck (in the state it was handed over to us) for future reference. However, we are very sure that no damage occurred to the vehicle while in our possession for the brief time period because we had parked in the designated parking spots allotted to us by Boston police and our moving-in went very smoothly. Now, when we were returning the truck at 5:40 p.m. to the above-mentioned location, the authorized personnel identified a few scratches on the left-hand side of the truck. While investigating the damage, the team pulled up an image of the truck when it was handed over to us which was a front view of the truck and had no evidence of NOT BEING DAMAGED in the picture. The team held us in discussions for a while and told we were all set and good to go when asked if any damage costs would be added to our receipt. However, an amount of $150 has been added to our final receipt for “Missing or Damage charges”. We would be highly grateful if you could look into the matter and withdraw the damage charges added to the receipt. Looking forward to your response. Thank you.
