Drove the 15' box 37 miles and when returning stoped in a gas station close to the store to complete the gas. Problem, I was suppost tô load 11/16, but the man reached 7/8 gas tank. That's was 3/16x 40galons tank, 7.5galons extra ($2.30/gal). Asked for credit at store and heard Nope. Very disappointed

The invoice number 85614173 shows charges for 2 days when, in fact, the rented vehicle was returned in one day. I made it clear that I wanted the vehicle for one day only and that I was bringing the vehicle back the evening of Sunday, May 21st. Also, I was charged for the use of the hand truck that was never used. The hand truck remained sealed. Finally, the steering on the 17' vehicle EL 1280 B was loose. There was at leas 3 or more inches of play in the steering that made keeping the vehicle difficult. If the invoice is not corrected, I will contact the Better Business Bureau and the Massachusetts Attorney General's office.

The fee structure is dissapointing because after 24 hours the time increments are in days instead of hours. I rented a van for 26 hours and was charged for 2 whole days. The cost was more than expected. Other than the cost, I was happy with it. the equipment was clean and in good condition. The staff was helpful.

UHaul advertised the rate as $58, but then did a bait-and-switch to $158 AND told me to drop the trailer off at this location, much further from my destination

I have 1 complaint, which really upset me. I returned the truck under the canopy, with employees still in & out, received the return paperwork. I still was charged for a 2nd day, because the computer automatically does that. That is unacceptable, and could've been an issue for bounced check fees. If I had returned it at 7 obviously I would've been charged also, that was not mentioned to me, also upsetting. Although that was a huge negative for me, your employees were professional, helpful & knowledgeable. Again the extra charge was a big disappointment & shocked me. Other than that it was a very good experience & I will recommend Uhaul to friends, but will make sure they know how the fees work. Denise Ribeiro

Having been a loyal customer of this location for 10 years or more, I was surprised to have a bad experience there this past wknd. I own a boat and move the contents from the boat when it goes in the water in early may, and remove the contents when it comes out of the water in November. I go to my house in Arlington, load my boat located in East Boston and return the truck or vice versa when I unload my boat. Every year I do this same thing. I go the same distance every time. So this time, I reserve a truck at this location online and do an express checkout thing online so that supposedly my time at the counter will be dramatically reduced and guess what happens.....Wrong Wrong Wrong. First off the representative has trouble finding my reservation, when he does it is wrong, has me getting packing products I didn't order or ask for (I reserved the furniture 2 wheeler that's it)...meanwhile by the time I'm done, the rep. next to mine has processed 3 rentals, and I'm still standing there....so much for express. So needless to say I'm slightly aggravated leaving w/ the rental. Then I made a mistake, I didn't check the mileage on the form vs the odometer. I return after unloading my boat and I'm charged for 85 miles of travel when my total trip was <25 miles. I say to the rep, Thor, and his Wilford Brimley spouting colleague, look up my rental history for the last 5 yrs. I rent at the same 2 times a year May, Nov, and travel the exact same distance. Wilford tells me that because of privacy issues, he can't look up my previous rentals, when I am standing there w/ him. So I guess people lie about their mileage all the time. Of course I never have and would. So because Thor was slow when I had supposedly been an Express rental, and was anxious to leave, I didn't look at the form vs the odometer.....and I was penalized w/ no recourse.....The fact that I was at the marina all day, not driving another 60 miles, and had eyewitnesses, iphone photos w/ date stamps, were irrelevant. Very poor customer service on the front end and resolving my issue on the back end!

I had a pretty average experience at this U-haul location. It seems like they never have enough staff around during busy periods so it can take a long time to pick up a truck or trailer (30mins-1hr in line before you're able to talk to see one of their reservations staff and get your rental started). The staff are friendly and very professional, but they either need to find a way to speed up the check-in process or get additional staff to get through the line quicker. Their process for trailer rental could also be improved. You wait in line, and then they make you go to the other end of their location to hook up your vehicle to the trailer. Then you come back and they actually process your reservation. They don't make you wait in line again, but it feels rude jumping ahead of the other customers. It would be great if they would let you attach your trailer first and then go wait in line to check out.
