The rental procedure was inefficient and frustrating. I rented a car trailer and was the first customer to arrive when they opened. I got to the counter and was told to go outside, get my truck hooked up to the trailer, then come back in to complete the paperwork. When I got hooked up and came back in, there was a long line of people in front of me. I had to wait another 20 minutes in line to complete the paperwork. Previously I've had the paperwork completed before going outside, or been able to skip the line after hooking up the trailer. It was a frustrating process they made me go through and wasted a good deal of my time.

The overall scheduling of a Uhaul is a nightmare. I got bounced around to give different locations in which I had to initiate finding the Uhaul since Uhaul's automated system has no fucking clue what is available where. I was an extremely stressful and frustrating process.; however, the people at the Sommerville location where very helpful but it was 45 minutes in the opposite direction of where I was looking.

This rental was disappointing. I have rented here repeatedly, but this time the computers were not working, and the attendants were frustrated. As a result, the process took a long time when I had helpers waiting to get started. In the end, it all worked out, though.

I was double charged for my rental. I called and they said the charge should drop in 3 to 5 business days. That was 2 weeks ago. I filled out a reservation online before showing up at the rental center. I had to wait for my vehicle, but I'm still not super sure what the hold up was. I'm currently on the phone with uhaul customer service, but the wait time is brutal, so i came here to fill in the review while waiting to talk to someone.

Dropped truck off a few minutes before closing and was told to hurry up and go find someone to check you in. It wasn’t a problem as I used the night drop off. Just wasn’t like the one in Mt laurel

I got to the location at 7AM when the store was scheduled to open. The staff watched as I stood outside until well past 7AM. When they did come out to open the door they were rude and uninviting. I then watched as another customer returned to collect the missing parts from his hitch installation from the previous day. The store had not completed the project and reinstalled all the correct car parts. The staff could not care less and treated the customer very poorly. I do not plan on returning as a customer.

Had to make reservations online. Tried to call uhaul site for 2 days to explain our circumstance before arrival We were coming from out of town to move our daughter we are not familiar with Boston streets and busy traffic we approximated our rental times. Could not speak to anyone the day of rental due to no one answering the phone and explain why we needed more time added to our move. We were charged 29.99 for extra day. We rented uhaul last year in another location Brookline ma who were much more accommodating than the Somerville location. Will never use this location again. Suggestion, pick up your phone and speak with customers instead of ignoring and charging them for another day.

1. Was told to call and confirm otherwise I wouldn’t be guaranteed a truck. Ironically, I had been calling for around 10 hours but the phone transferred me to a never ending automated holding line. How could I have confirmed? 2. Someone took our truck. Another customer literally drove off with our truck. We had to wait 45 minutes extra to get another truck on Boston’s second busiest move in day because of this. 3. After someone took our truck, it basically felt like everyone forgot about us and left. Luckily we found one last employee who got us into the truck meant for the other customer and we were able to leave a whopping 1 hour later. Your employees were wonderful, and I’m grateful the manager cut us a break after the experience, but upper management & overall organization needs so much work. What’s the point of telling me to call if I had been and the employee servicing me told me the phone didn’t ring all day? Why wasn’t there better control of the customer who just took our truck and drove away? Why did everyone (including the manager- especially the manager) except one employee leave when we were still waiting to just leave? Thank you to some very sweet and tired people on a busy day that helped us, but I probably would never recommend U-Haul to anyone or try and avoid U-haul’s in the future.

This location functions with irregular policies that you only find out about when you are there. Christopher Rovendro has horrible customer service skills, his tag says owner so I have to assume he has a bigger role at this site but this not give him a license to be an asshole!

Appointment to pick up van was scheduled before the location opened, even though I received both a text and telephone call confirming the appointment. I was told onsite to use their website to pick up the van, but a vehicle was never assigned to my reservation so I had to wait till the shop opened. I called the 24h number, (Jorge White 617 230 1004) twice but no one even picked up, nor did I receive a call back. Would not rent again.

Not a great experience. I have rented there before, so I’m not sure what has changed. The guy taking care of my reservation did not have the best people skills. I felt belittled as a customer. The guy hooking up my trailer certainly was friendly and considerate. Overall, will not be returning even though they’re close to home. Would prefer to drive further out to pickup equipment.
