The self-check in is TERRIBLE. Really awful. Why would you ask for our driver's license information and contact info, then ask again? It doesn't tell you that you need to bring two witnesses. What's the point of online check in? Also, my truck was blocked in, and the onyl only option you cna choose is "Can't find my truck." The prompts are terrible.

location-wise it was perfect for where I was moving, however the customer service was not the best, and they open at 7 AM -- therefore if you book a rental at that time ahead of time/online, you really drive off the lot later because of the time it takes for front desk check-in

No yard attendant present upon return of the vehicle. Full front & back inspection though necessary on your end, seem unnecessary on my end, because I had no problems or concerns during rental period. I always return any vehicle I rent in the same or better condition.

The checkout process with the phone is ridiculous. Taking four photos is fine but then I had to provide two numbers of people that know me so they could call them. I waited outside for twenty minutes while all this occurred. I've rented there multiple times in the past so I should be in the system and a photo of my face matching my license should be enough. I complained to a clerk who seemed to be friendly and understanding. He explained that the system was just rolling out around the country and there were some teething issues. I said that the whole experience from a customer point of view was arduous and excessive. And I was through. About that time what I assumed to be a manager, he came from an office with a desk to the right of the counter, appeared at the doorway and loudly stated, "Sir, these protections are put in place so that some crazy guy doesn't take one of our vehicles and plow through innocent people like in NYC. I'm sorry if you don't like it but that's the world we live in." I said, "I understand the need for heightened security but I'm suggesting looking into finding a better way because this was not a good experience at all. Seems like calling my friends is a little extreme and, if absolutely necessary, something that could be done before I arrive, not while I'm standing in the parking lot." He said, loudly, "Sir, I've already explained to you. We don't want people using our vehicles for terrorism and killing innocent people. That's the price you pay. It's too bad if you don't like it." I was bristling after this encounter but decided to not argue with this loud, angry man and just leave and rent trucks from other businesses. Thanks for listening. It’s a shame Christopher and all of the staff are so darn handsome, as well as knowledgeable, efficient and polite. It’s very distracting. And that gorgeous Jennifer that’s there deserves a raise for being her own UHaul expert Queen Bee. Well done. Will be back next year for more 10 foot truck fun. Thank you for all that you did for us for our event. Much appreciated.

I think it is ridiculous to ask a senior citizen to climb back up in the truck and perform all the maintenance checks with one of your staff. You should be doing the check-in with all staff like you used to, not making customers do that - staff time for that should be included in the cost of doing business and not laid on customers who are paying to rent a truck not paying for the privilege of doing your work for you! I will never rent from UHaul again.

They gave me a really crappy truck, refused to take any information about the truck condition. Assured me that the same person would be there and to check in the truck and I shouldn't worry about the condition as they acknowledged it. I never had a chance to check the sliding back door and it never worked easy. I have used this company several times and historically have had good experiences and trusted them.

This was by FAR the cleanest, most organized, and friendliest U-Haul I have ever associated with, in at least two decades of being a customer. The staff and manager were friendly and respectful, and the equipment was clean and in good shape. I was late returning, because my movers ran late, and they didn't charge me extra. Overall, I'm a very satisfied customer.

I was not aware that I would be banned from putting my own stuff in my warehouse after 5. This led to a situation where the people working here were refusing to let me put the very last of my stuff in my unit at 5:01. I couldn't return the truck until I had the stuff out of it, and they spent longer arguing with me about whether I could put my stuff in the unit then it took me to put the stuff in the unit. It was an extremely stressful ending to an already stressful day.

Staff were friendly and the van was fine. But the after-hours self-return process was impossible even with a smart phone. When I got to the step of submitting a picture of the odometer and fuel gauge, it kept having me take a picture, then telling me that it needed a more recent picture. I had to give up, drop my keys in the box, and call a phone number to talk to a human and tell them I was returning the van... There must be an easier way to do a self-return.

Three (3) times, I instructed the staff that I was renting the cargo van from Thursday until Sunday and each time they some how came to the conclusion that I was bringing the van back the next day. The first time was when I reserved the van on Wednesday. I had made it clear that I was intending to take them cargo van for 3 days. The day I picked it up (Thursday) the woman thought I was bringing it back on next day on Friday. And I said, "No, per my reservation, I'm bringing it back on Sunday" -- And she said, "Oh you're right, my apology." Then on Friday, I got a call from the branch location asking where I was. And I reminded them I was using it for 3 days. And they seemed incredibly confused. This bothered me because no one, at any time, seemed to understand Thursday to Sunday is 3 days. It also messed up the rental estimation and it ended up costing me $211 instead of the estimated $109. Needless to say, I feel deceived and I'm hesitant to rent from this U-Haul branch (or any U-Haul) again.
