worst moving company i have ever seen. The truck that we were given to move from Vancouver to calgary had the worst tires i have ever seen after Uhaul decided to do nothing about the safety of the truck we purchased chain from you for 250 bucks that were actually broken. after our 4th trip to Uhaul in 1 day they reluctantly gave us our money back for the chains are we bought much better ones for half the price from canadian tire

U-haul Very good service

Customer service and yard staff were rude when I picked up. Trailer door did not work well at all; very hard to open and close and latch/unlatch.

If this is not posted for other people to see, why should I spend TIME for your benefit? NEVER AGAIN

The analogue gauge for th fuel tank didn’t help as I overfuel it and wasted my 10 dollars. You should rather charge per km, which Ian pretty easy for both the customer and U Haul team member to review it.

The 26 foot uhaul we rented was not in for our pick up time. The customer service guy could not get a hold of the people that had it. They wanted to send my step dad to port moody to get a 26 foot after 45 minutes waiting for some kind of uhaul truck. My stepdad then said he would take a 20 foot as we had to be out of our house and he said they are all reserved, my step dad then said ya and so was ours. So we did receive a 20 foot uhaul, but had to make two trips from Langley to surrey as all of our stuff would not fit in the 20foot. and when I spoke to someone regarding a credit he said he can put the request in but the manager will have to approve it. I asked when the manager will do it they said when they get around to it. Also when my step dad went to go drop off uhaul he was 5 minutes after closing people were sitting in uhaul but told him he needed to come back in the morning to pay. Which he did and they already charged his credit card and he wanted to pay cash. I will never use uhaul again and I have used it about 5 times in the last 6 years. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The pickup truck gas gauge is slow to respond When putting in fuel. It cost me more than it should have

There are not enough trained staff working there. Every time I come to rent a truck it takes over 40 minutes of waiting to get served. If the owner was not so stingy on the wages, he would find good people that would want to stay and work. You need more and better questions to have a real survey...

The original location for drop off was closed and as it was across from a "Tent City" where homeless people are camped out (a lot of them) I was not comfortable just leaving the truck and keys in the box. I did not have access to internet but had my children living in town to call and ask if they could look up locations close to me that would STILL BE OPEN IN THE AFTERNOON ON A SATURDAY. We found one that would be listed in your computer and the fellow there was VERY HELPFUL in resolving my problem. So, I would not recommend the first place under and circumstance by would VERY MUCH RECOMMEND THE ONE WE USED.

Provide your employees with the tools they need to do their jobs efficiently. Only 1 of the computers was able to take payments while other computer could make reservations only. Line up was out the door and I waited 30 mins. in line to pay my bill. Why is staff working the returned equipent lot not trained to use handheld devices like rental car companies use? I will caution anyone using this location about long wait times to pick-up and return rentals. Frustrating for customers and not at all supportive of your staff. For a company that's been in business for 40+ years you need to vastly improve the customer service at this location by providing training for lot personnel and the IT tools your employees require in order to do their jobs.

There should be some free kms along with the 20$ rental fee.

My truck was not available when I showed up. I ended up getting a 10ft instead of the 15ft I booked. At first I was told nothing could be done and luckily a 10ft became available but it was my only option. There needs to be more pressure on people to return trucks on time

MORE PEOPLE NEED TO HEAR ABOUT THIS UHAUL SCAM BEFORE RENTING. I THOUGHT I WAS COVERED AND WAS NOT!! I tried helping a "friend" leave an "abusive" relationship by renting a Surrey Uhaul truck so she could move and escape. We went and picked the truck up and I dropped it off at her place. She was supposed to call me when the truck was loaded and I was going to drive the truck to her new place to unload and then take the uhaul truck back to the truck lot. I gave her the keys in case of emergency/fire and someone needed the truck moved 2 feet (whoever moves it needs to have a license) and she was to call me if this happened. To make a long story short she never called me and stole the truck and drove to Calgary. I told u-haul what happened and they told me to make a report to the police and u-haul reported the vehicle stolen. U-haul assured me that I was covered with the u-haul insurance I purchased and she would take the charges off and get back to me. She called me back the next day and said she could not take the charge off from her computer and gave me the number to call to get the charges taken off and she said the process should be pretty straightforward. That person said they could do nothing about the charges. I told them I did not have the money all at once, but, I would be willing to make monthly payments till the debt is taken care of. . . they accepted and gave me a number to call to set up payment plan. I called that number and now they are not sure about the payment plan-to call back tomorrow. I'll know more tomorrow. When I reported to the police they said they could not report the u-haul stolen because I gave her the keys. Which just does not make any sense at all. Because the vehicle was in my name I have the "color of right". Which means she took the vehicle and did not return it, it is theft. 322, 354, 355 1,2,4 of the criminal code. Comprehensive coverage explicitly covers theft and larceny without any “ifs”. I am working hard to find the lady (that stole the truck) so the police will do something because this is a scam and there is no punishment for offender. So there is absolulty no deterant from her doing this to someone else the next time she needs to move across the Country. This is my u-haul horror story. Kinda feels like I am at their mercy. I hope uhaul can help with a payment plan so this does not affect my credit. I do not have a choice but to take this as a learning experience. Does anyone have any advice on dealing with u-haul or getting this thief held accountable or getting the u-haul comprehensive insurance I paid for to kick in ??? This scam must happen a lot. . I think more people need to hear about it!!!! firstname.lastname@example.org

Hopefully this review will help to improve the service at uhaul. We had multiple delays in getting the truck we had ordered a month prior. After deferring our friends who had offered and made time to help us move as we didn't get our truck on the first two scheduled attempts, we were able to only get the truck if we drove a few cities over to pick one up. They had guaranteed us it had snow tires but we found out there were not appropriate tires, and they had also told us way after we were committed to getting the truck that we would need to buy chains which the location would have. When we arrived first thing in the morning the day after our anticipated departure date for the truck, the staff hadn't shown up to work. The cleaning lady was super helpful as she let us come in and by calling head office, she was able to get us he keys and give our CC # over the phone, but they didn't have the chains as promised. When my husband got into the truck, the gas gauge was below empty and he was barely able to get to the gas station for fuel, and it took $40 to even move the needle from empty. It was an incredibly stressful experience on top of what was an already big transition. We called head office to see who would have snow chains and they couldn't find any for the truck that day anywhere in the area, so we had to find a truck driver to source chains while we were packing the truck as due to the uhauls delays, we were late for our move. After multiple calls and requests to talk to the manager, we are still awaiting a phone call back more than 2wks later

Cleanliness standards have gone down over the past year. The billing was incorrect and I had to call to have this fixed.
