Build a gate. That area is full of drug addicted criminals. The van I booked at my chosen location was stolen. I drove 30 km out of the way to show up in North Surrey to find 1 van that had been siphoned, 2 vans with stolen batteries. I had to threaten to cancel my reservation to get the van I had booked. Cost me a ton of time and a fortune in person km charges. I will never use uhaul for anything Ever!!

The truck broke down, it took over two hours for a tow truck to come out. We had called them soon after we picked it up as it wasn't running well but they had no other trucks to give us so we were told to call roadside assistance if it broke down. Also, one of the tires was flat upon pick-up so we had to put air in it. Definitely need better maintained vehicles. We were also promised a call back on a few occasions and never received one. I will not be renting from u-haul again in the future.

The location and day of pick up experience was fine. However, if I was rating the online booking system, the subsequent emails, the costumer service when I called in due to incorrect information in the confirmation emails, and every contact I had with UHaul prior to my pick up date, my rating of UHaul would be extremely poor. Customer service in one word: rude.

The issue was not with the local location. It was with the cental dispatch centre and web page Erronious information caused me alot of unnecessary milage charges driving back and forth and alot of wasting of my time feel that a different rental company may be better in the future

Worst experience with u-haul to date. I've used u-haul many times in the past and was very pleased with their customer service. This time, however, was terrible. Firstly, the ladies working the day I picked up the truck were completely unprofessional; the employee who was "helping" me was unable to answer questions I had for her. They were very clearly non-chalant about their jobs. I needed the truck for two nights. The plan was to load up at night and drive to the new home in the morning. So, I intended to keep the truck loaded and locked up over night. But the u-haul people forgot to give me a key. My wife called and was given unacceptable solutions to the problem. We had no choice but to go out and buy a lock. It's not so much the $10 loss, but rather the inconvenience to have to go out in the middle of a move, at night, to hunt down a lock. This was a waste of time, and it complicated matters. The biggest problem was the truck pick up itself. When I called to rent one, I specifically asked to pick-up from the langley location; this is down the block from where I lived, and would have made my travel distance, using the truck, much less. Instead, the pick up location was changed to the furthest possible location, which racked up the kilometers I planned to travel during my move, by over ten times the distance. I understand there are truck shortages sometimes, but this could have been made aware to me, as I specifically said I wanted to pick up from the closer location. And I had to drive all the way back to the original truck pickup location, unlike at the other u-haul locations I've used, which have allowed me to drop off the truck at any u-haul. But this u-haul location would not allow me to drop it off anywhere else; seemed like a scammy way to make a few extra bucks. I would not recommend the branch I used, near surrey central, to anyone. They get a big 0 rating from me. PS: I was told I would get a call from the manager, where I picked up the truck, by the next day. Still waiting for that call.

After many issues with uhaul trying to get a truck to leave the lower mainland. with broken promises. Justin at the Surrey location was amazing. He got me a truck and made all my past problems right. He was able to end my long fight with uhaul Thank you Justin.

They were timely with our check in. They did give us the wrong truck & realized as we were about to leave which did delay us but not by a lot. 100% better than the 84th & King George location who lost our reservation for a storage unit even after we went to the location & put it on hold in person. So we ended up renting a storage unit at another company.

Staff have poor English skills, but most customers speak English in Canada. Employees are not very capable at responding to concerns and questions, and like to pass you on to a coworker who will make you wait for service if any is ultimately provided at all. I had food poisoning during my move which put me behind schedule, and had to keep my rental an extra day, but they did not make an exception and fined me. The handles on uhaul boxes break very easily even when packed quite lightly. It is not possible to reach a uhaul location directly by phone. You just have the option of speaking to someone at a central number somewhere. Overall, this was a very negative experience, and I cannot in good faith recommend them.

I booked my truck for moving, I received an old, unsafe truck. I asked right at the beginning to change it for newer model, my request was denied. I could not adjust the driver seat, could not adjust the side mirror and at every five minutes of driving the warning light would appear with noise that I have to check the gage. I was told the tank is 1/4 full and it was almost empty to the point I thought I should get gas before it stops on my way to my warehouse. Overall very unpleasant experience.

There is more to this than the location I ended up renting from: I got a call the night before (6:40pm) our confirmed rental date that the truck I had reserved in Port Coquitlam for 10am next day was no longer available. The person calling did not have a time-appropriate alternative for me, and instead asked if I could change my move to start at 4:30pm. I explained to the person calling that, although I was eager to please UHaul and meet their needs, I had already booked my move-in time for Aug 6 from 3pm to 6pm, and that a 4:30pm truck availability did not look like it would work for me. The person calling from UHaul did not help - she said that she would call her head office and get them to sort it out for me before closing at 8pm Aug 5. That did not happen. Instead, I called around to other truck rental places (including other UHaul locations) and found a truck which met both my size and schedule needs. Although my ultimate moving experience with UHaul worked out well, my scheduling and confirmation experience was horrible and I would not recommend it to anyone. I feel that I am owed some compensation from UHaul for my stress and the effort required for me to re-book a truck before closing Friday Aug 5. I had no confidence that UHaul would hold up their end of the bargain until I was actually sitting in the truck at 9am Aug 6.

I had reserved a truck for 8am and when I went to pick it up, it was not available. I had to wait 2 hours before I was able to get a truck and had to go to different location to pick it up. I had movers that I to pay extra for because of the delay - I was very upset, I expect a call back please

Nothing. Everything was explained to me, even how to return the trailer after hours. I extended my reservation a couple of times and that was quite easy to do. Overall a very good experience!

This reservation had a pick up point in Port Coquitlam (City Tire) and we never received an email from you to say City Tire would be closed on Sunday. I especifically said I needed to be contacted by email only cause my cell phone would be in a zone with no reception and the tel of my company was not available cause we close on Sundays. I hired 2 people, your Priscilla over the phone at Customer Service was very rude, I requested a copy of the recorded conversation, cause all this I told her and in the end her best offer was sending me the day after, a Monday! for the equipment to be picked up in SURREY!! That is unacceptable cause I incurred in hiring 2 persons AGAIN for Monday. I rent with you EVERY WEEKEND, I thought I should receive some consideration. No drive on ramp provided with the 6x12 enclosed trailer but was told there was one when inquiring for first time. This provided inconvenience as I had to build a ramp to load motorcycle for move to new location. Otherwise very happy with service and equipment.
