The return policy was unclear in regards to the text message I received asking me to follow a link upon after hours return. I did not click it until I got home, and it forced me to give access to my phone location, without any option to decline, threatening a$20 fee if I didn't allow access to my phones location. Very disappointed in uhauls policy, and will be discussing with my friends.Jason S.

While using the app to check in, I was unaware that my reservation had expired since we were late picking our truck up. The app didn't tell me this. It just kept telling my husband, mother-in-law and I that we had no network connection. We all had signal and data on our phones. When I called customer service about this issue, the lady I spoke with was incredibly rude to me and insisted that all three of us must have been out of our data on our phones, which is unlimited, and it had to be our phones malfunctioning. I've never been so angry with the way I was treated during an already stressful situation. She eventually hung up on me. I will never ever recommend UHAUL to anyone because of how terrible this experience was.Christopher K.
Things went well as we traveled 600 miles to pick up the rest of our things in TN. On the way to our new home, not so much. I was the only driver (69 y.o., 5'3" 125#) grandma. My husband rode shotgun due to an ankle fracture that precluded him from driving. Just south of Louisville, KY, the "check engine" light came on. I contacted Roadside Assistance & was told it could be 2 - 3 hours before help could arrive. There was no guarantee the truck could be fixed, or that we could get another 10' truck. The adviser said if it was acting OK I could drive it to the nearest Uhaul store, for which no information was provided. I did a Google search & found a place. The guy sold used cars & boats & could not help. He directed us north on I-65 to a "real" Uhaul store. They were very busy & were not AT ALL HELPFUL!!! We were there for 2 hours, waiting for them to find us another 10' truck. I had emergency service on the phone & the GM would not talk to them until I got very upset & yelled at her. To make a long story short, I ended up calling a Penske truck rental in New Albany, IN, about 30 minutes from Shepherdsville, KY. We got a better deal, a bigger truck & help unloading & reloading the two trucks. After calling Roadside Assistance AGAIN to let them know what we had done, we were told to stay with the truck until the tow truck arrived, within an hour at the most. I got a text an hour later, checking to see if we'd been assisted yet. Replied no. About 30 minutes later we got a call letting us know the towing company had a breakdown & we could leave. After wasting several hours, & a LOT of money, we incurred additional expense because we had to stay in a hotel. The local Uhaul store in Swanton, OH was awesome as far as customer service was concerned. We were contacted on Monday by Patty, who responded to my voice mail telling her of our ordeal. She has been the shining star in this whole debacle. We have spent over $900.00 for the Uhaul, Penske & an additional night hotel stay. Uhaul needs to make this right for us. We live on a fixed income & cannot afford all these extra expenses. We're counting on Uhaul to do the right thing.Barbara C.
This company is a joke. I would recommend to anyone moving to use any other truck company. They screwed up almost every part of the reservation. I had to go 20 miles out of my way to pick the truck up because they didn't bring it to my location and the lied to me about the 24/7 pick up because I had to to sit around for 2 hours waiting for the place to open. I then asked if I was going to get charged the extra miles because of their problem and they said no. Well you guessed it, they tried to charge me extra when I dropped it off. I urge you to use any other company. It will save you a lot of problems and headaches.Joseph M.
We ordered a truck for pick up in the Bowling Green OH area and the day before, we were instructed to pick up truck at a LATER time in a remote location about 30-45 minutes away. We had to drive this distance in our car which is NOT what we expected to do. We Were NOT happy that we had to put mileage and extra gas into our vehicle. Not happy at all!!! And NOT fair to us since at that point we had no choiceqqRonald G.
Our schedule drop off was May 4th according to our contract. They said it was May 3rd and charged us for an extra day. I contacted the central office to correct this, which they were very helpful and accommodating.janet R.
