First of all, U-Haul changed our pickup location at the last minute, resulting in an additional 25km drive for us, which was not what we needed in the middle of a busy move. When we arrived, the person at that counter seemed completely unaware of the procedure to dispatch the U-Haul vehicle. Despite having checked in online and confirmed my reservation over the phone with U-Haul the previous day, this process took about 45 minutes while he sat in front of a computer and largely ignored me. He also left to serve other customers during this time. During this time I had to call U-Haul to ask that they expedite this process. This location should not be used for U-Haul pickups. The truck was filthy. We had to clean smeared chocolate off the floor, there were cockroaches and other bugs in the back of the truck. A full cleanout was necessary before we would load our own belongings. The cab had dirty clothing (presumably from the previous renter) and there were dead bugs in the cupholders. This truck was clearly not inspected before being rented out again. Unacceptable.
