Again, excellent service and very friendly staff from the time I picked up the equipment to when I returned. Especially from Faye, the CSR, who makes the pick up go seamlessly.

We were told we’d receive the truck with gas 1/4 tank full. When the uhaul rep handed the car over he did note it was below 1/4 mark, almost empty and said not to be concerned as he’d note that on file. We went to get gas because like I said, it was almost empty. Put in $50 at the gas station so that we could use the truck. Upon returning it it was sitting exactly at 1/4 & were not reimbursed or credited for our incident at all.

Upon closer inspection of the moving van, there was gardening/landscape dirt and foliage on the floor of the overhead attic and in the floor of the truck. There was an empty drink bottle, peanuts and french fries in the cab. The pull out ramp was covered in dirt from landscape material. This was frustrating as we were on a limited time frame to move and tracked dirt into our old place and our new place. Now we have twice as much cleaning to do.

The people at the 1070 Marine Drive location are the very model of excellent. They all worked hard to make my experience pleasant and successful. They worked particularly hard to help me with a towed vehicle that was not in the u-Haul database. Thank you!

Very disappointed I was charged an extra day when, in fact, I dropped off the truck on Sunday night as the store was closing. I talked to an employee and he said they were closing for the day and to just put the SafeMove papers in the truck, lock it and put the key in the after-hours slot. Then I get the bill this morning and you charged me an extra $40.00. Not cool at all and I will go out of my way not to have to rent from U-Haul again. I tried to call to get my money back but was on hold for about 20 minutes when I gave up.

After bring informed the day before my move, that the trailer I requested was not available and I would have to settle for a smaller one. When I got the trailer it was not clean, someone had locked the door. It took 3 guys too figure out that they needed a bolt cutter and 20 minutes later I was finally on my way not impressed

First, the attendant gave me the wrong truck, I rented a 20 feet truck and the attendant gave me a 15 feet truck, so I needed to get beck to the reception and then I waited for 45 minutes the receive the right truck. Finally, when I return the truck the employee who received the truck tried to charge me an extra cost for the gas, which I deliver exactly with the same amount that I picked up (I had a receipt from the gas), which I explained that the truck was given to me in a hill which, naturally, change the fuel mark. I hope U-Haul can improve this unacceptable service.

When booking a trailer the Uhaul person should explain what size of ball is required for the hitch and also the type of wiring connector for the trailer. I had to purchase an adapter for the wiring and a 2" ball and hitch. I didn't need any of these items as I had them at home, but I drove a long way to pick up this trailer as it was the only location available.

The dolly was in the way of my cargo needs. The mileage on truck was inaccurate on slip when I got truck but corrected

Teach your employee how to provide GOOD customer service. I was not told about a 'return rate' vs 'daily rate' so I had to explain to the manager why I shouldn't pay for a 3 day rental that I only used for 2 days. NEVER have I ever rented anything and had to pay for days that I didn't use/keep the item, whether it was a vehicle or tools or anything else. You need to train your employees better, period.

When I got to the location they were going to charge me double the price I was quoted when I made the reservation because I had changed the date and time! There was no notification when I changed the date and time that there would be a price change for altering the date. Finally after about 30 min - was informed I would have the original quoted price honoured. Was also disappointed that you could not purchase additional liability insurance from U-Haul. The U- Haul truck rental only covers $200,000 liability insurance - which is not nearly enough if you are in an accident and people are injured!! Spent hours on the phone with U-Haul then ICBC. Finally was able to get $1 million liability insurance by purchasing a 2 day policy from ICBC.!!

The site seems prone to bottle-necking on pick up and drop off. Also, the vehicle I rented had a back up camera which was great, but VERY misleading as to how much room you actually had. I know, "objects in mirror are closer than they appear", but on this vehicle, it seemed extreme.
