Customer Reviews

Had a storage unit here for just over a year. Accident happened and another customer triggered the sprinkler system. This caused Uhaul to contact all customers to come check on their units for water damage. I pulled all of the items out of the storage unit to check for water damage and mop up the floor (which I had to do myself) to dry it out. Thankfully, even though there was a thin layer of water covering the floor of my unit, most items in the storage unit were not damaged. The one thing that did soak up lots of water, because it was in contact with the floor, was a large, shag rug. We were told to use certain, vacant, storage units (that were set up with industrial fans) as "drying chambers" for items that were wet. I put my large run in here. I was told to leave it in there over night. Before I came back to retrieve my rug I phoned the location to ensure it was accessible and available. I was told the rug had moved into another unit. When I arrived on location I asked about the previous unit it was sent to for drying and the new one and the rug was no where to be found (staff member patrolling the units showed me to both and we did not find it - I was taken back to front desk) I then chatted to a front desk staff member about the rug and they said they'd have to speak to security staff to review the footage of the security cameras to trace where the rug had been moved to...I had pretty much, at this point, lost all faith in them for finding the rug. I was expecting some soft of admission of loss or offer of compensation. I was not even told to contact the claims department (I was also paying insurance on the unit) I was actually able to contact the "storage manager" at the time and we spoke in person initially (who told me about having to sift through security footage to track the rug) and also on the phone (briefly again to remind her of my rug situation and again through a very vague, returned voice mail - addressing the long lost rug, but no detail about if it was lost or if any attempt at retrieving it was even made, or if I had to go through the procedure of filing an official claim) Because I've had no success (physically at the location or over the phone - I've made several attempts to leave this "storage manager" a voice mail, describing my situation and also describing my situation to the staff personnel taking my phone call when the "storage manger" wasn't available) I've recently chatted online with the "live chat" service, whom immediately directed me to the claims department. I would have gladly followed this procedure if the "storage manager" suggested the same solution...this was not the case. In general, I am surprisingly shocked at the treatment I have received for such a minor problem. I understand Uhaul is a busy company with many people and families moving (probably every day), but this issue seems like it would have easily been addressed if I was dealing with someone more competent. Either tell me right

I was given a location over the phone that indicated it would be open 24hrs, it was closed at 7pm.

I had a lot of trouble with the after hr returning through the website. I spent almost an hour on the phone with customer service trying to figure out the situation and we couldn't. I had much better experiences returning the vehicle in others locations.

Friendly staff, both pick up and drop off went smoothly. Good value for the money.

It would have been better if, you had the 15' Truck I Reserved 10 Days prior to me picking it up!!!

The petrol level was overstated on the contract. I was told this was ok by the agent but the check in clerk tried to enforce it. Also the agent tried to charge an additional 100 km on my mileage. From 27 to over 100. Claimed a ‘mistake’

You are the best, friendly and Professional time. Well done!

I have nothing to impressed thank you uhaul

The new system that was recently installed does not take into account my history with U-Haul. The service staff couldn’t locate my file and needed verification of my number. Yet in the past I have certainly rented with U-Haul. Any operating system that requires such lengthy confirmations at times isn’t as efficient and cumbersome. U-Haul should consider changes.

Great experience. Thank you.

The vehicle was clean ,the person behind the desk was knowledgeable, the young man giving me my vehicle was courteous. The renting was a success , the only need was for the shock absorbers ,the rest was good. Christian Raymond Fau

Happy with the service and the people were helpful but trailer hitch was losening frequently.

I would like to recommend the counter person would provides more info on night drop off. As this is my 1st time to used night drop off. I was lucky that I did not drop the key in the night drop before using the Uhaul app. The night drop app required me to go back into the truck to take pictures.

Returned the truck on time and they charged me additional day. Didn’t notice there is a scratch on the side and they charged me for damage again. (They didn’t take me check the truck’s old damage when I rent it. All they said is this is a new truck.) not gonna rent from U-Haul in the future!

Kudos to Pam, CSR at Call Center. 20 mins before leaving home to pick up our rental, noticed that our confirmation said I had reserved a 9' Cargo Van (I had reserved an 8' pickup truck). Pam advised there are occasions when home computers experience glitches and default to the most common truck. Thankfully she was able to secure and change our reservation to an 8' pickup 15 mins prior to leaving home for our scheduled pick up time! Thank you Pam at the call-in center! Our only constructive critique is that CSRs at the location check-in desk don't always acknowledge patrons (or continue to look at their computer screens) - even when they aren't dealing with a customer at the time, and you're the only one standing in the queue waiting for their attention.

The rental truck was a worn out hunk of junk. Grossly expensive, all in $200 for 1 day! So much for the ad at $39.95!

Hi, I rented a car trailer. The staff should have shown me how to do pre-trip safety inspection and how to use it. The staff didn't seem to have a genuine concerns for the work they do. I'm sadden by the experience. The front desk also didn't know how to do self check out. It's a min she need to know how it works. The gentleman that checked out at the end of the day was nice and did what he was supposed to do.

There was no issue with the staff at the pick-up location. But we had our truck rescheduled 3 times within 18 hours our requested pick up time due maintenance and repair. The Customer service agent I had to deal because of this with was possibly the rudest and least helpful person I have ever encountered. I will tell all my friends and family never to use uhual because of the way I was spoken to and hung up on not to mention that my truck that I reserved was not available when I needed it. I am apalled that a business this terrible to their customers is still in business.

Everything went surprisingly easy... I credit the staff.

The fuel level is an "eye-balled" estimate on the fuel gauge. There were differences in your estimates at the start of rental verses the end. I drove a total of 19km and put 6.4lt ($10) of fuel in the van before returning. Based on your "eye-ball" estimate, your people wanted me to pay an additional $11 for more fuel. I refused - there is no way I used $21 in gas to drive 19km?!?. You need a better approach to measuring fuel levels. I felt like I was getting scammed.

Have more trucks available for when people are late returning them. I had to wait for 45 minutes and had to pay my movers for that extra time and no compensation. The supervisor wasn't very nice about the issue so I'm guessing this wasn't a rare occurrence.

Have sign out employees more attentive to details of order rather than being so rushed they want to get the customer out and on to the next. My sign out employee didn't place the furniture dolly in the vehicle resulting in an hour delay to return to the rental counter to pick one up and additional mileage. All at my cost.
