I was not told about the surcharge for not filling the gas tank. If I had I known this I would have filled it before returning the truck . In future, I will not take a vehicle unless it is filled with gasoline when I pick it up!..

Staff were unhelpful and rude. We booked a van and were only told upon arrival that there weren’t any available (just 5 “broken” vans in the parking lot!!!) Got “upgraded” to a 10’ truck but incurred oversize costs on the ferry. Desk staff completely unhelpful in trying to solve our challenges.

I was not made aware that there will be a charge for dropping off the trailer after 7 p.m. the fee was more than the cost of the rental of the trailer. I would have been better off dropping off the trailer the next day

UHaul as a company is terrible. I tried calling to confirm a reservation and was on hold for 15 minutes and then was hung up on. I got to the original location where my reservation was made only to be told that it was changed to another location, further from my house which means I incurred more mileage that I had to pay for. Then when I finally got my truck, the employee did not speak very much English, did not explain the process and it took a really long time to get the information I needed to get the process completed. When I mentioned that the service had been poor up to this point and that I was very frustrated, at no point did anyone say anything to make me feel like a valued customer. NOT ONCE what a shitty experience... And that was after I gave this company a 2nd chance. I had rented a truck in July and the experience was so awful that I was promised a discount for my next rental. Not only did I NOT get a discount on my account, but my reservation was moved so I had to pay more money!! HORRIBLE!!!

My experiece with Uhaul was the worst customer exerpice that I have ever experienced. I made a reservation on the phone on Nov. 27 for Nov. 30, 82015758, when I called back approx 30 minutes later the guy on the other end told me that I don't have a reservation because it should have never been booked. I was frustered with this as when a company makes a reservation, they should uphold that reservation. His only defense was that I only reserved it 30 minutes prior. This excuse should never be used. Shouldnt matter if the reservation was made 5 minute prior or a month prior. A reservation is a reservation. He said he was going to cancel the reservation and I told him not too. Then I asked to speak to his manager which he tranfered me to the call center and I got a lady who put me on hold to see what they can do for me. She came back and said that she apologises for the wait but needs a couple more minutes. She put me back on hold and a couple minutes later we were "disconnected." I called Uhaul back and I got another guy who said that there is a 15' truck, which I reserved in the prior reservation, available at the location that I originally reserved. I told him how I went through this process already and that it was not available. He insured me that there was one there as on the computer it shows a green check mark, which to his explaination, means it is available. I went ahead and reserved this one, 82025600. I was under the impression, again, that I had this reservation. On Nov. 28, I get a phone called from Uhaul saying that the reservation that I booked prior was unavailbe. This was even more frusterating as I explained to the guy about how it wasnt and that he said it was. When I was talking to the lady she said there is nothing they can do and there was nothing else available besides a pick-up truck and trailer. She also informed me that there was no discount that they could do for THEM making another mistake. I was forced to get the Uhaul truck and trailer. I asked her to make sure that the trailer was NOT open aired. She ensured me that it wasnt. On Nov. 30, I went into the SE Marine drive Uhaul in Vancouver and I went up to the counter to get the pickup truck with a closed trailer. The lady there says that I never booked a closed trailer and that in fact it was an open air trailer. This was the 3rd time that Uhaul has made a mistake with me. To me this is not accepatable. I was forced to get straps to ensure that my stuff wouldnt fall off the open aired trailer that I was now having to get. I was very frusterated at this time as this is unacceptable on what Uhaul is doing. I put the straps (in plastic) down on the counter between me and the lady working there. She asked for my id and i throw it onto the straps and it slide off onto the keyboard and onto her lap. The Uhaul employee snapped at me, accused me of throwing my id at her face and then went on to tell me that she isnt my slave. It too a lot of me not to lose my tempter as she to

Your return after hours procedure is way too confusing. I tried to followed the instructions on the video posted on the website by taking pictures of the front and back of he truck, pictures of the truck in the location I returned it to, and a picture of the gas gauge, but then as I tried to proceed through the check out stage, it never asked for any of this information. I asked some if the employees that were hanging around the lock boxes for some assistance, they weren’t interested in helping me. I eventually just got exasperated , gave up and took the $20 penalty. It was really frustrating

I say yes only because after your call center screwed up my pickup time by entering 9pm instead of 9 am I got stuck with a pickup truck instead of a van to bring home my $2000 custom made cabinet. I was not impressed at all. The person at the desk helped out but I was made to feel that it was my fault and they were doing me a favour. Fuck You!!

I had a rather unpleasant experience booking my rental vehicle. My rental was changed 3 times. Each time an even more inconvenient rental time. I originally wanted a 10’ truck - it wasn’t available at the time I booked for online so I received a call to find a time that works. That’s fine. All that was available was a 15’ truck at 3:30pm on Nov 30. Booked it because I had no choice. Asked to rent a Utility Dolly with it also. I booked an extra vehicle for Dec 1 incase I had to change my move in date. Worked out fine without receiving a phone call. Later canceled this. I went into my dashboard on my account to double check on my vehicle and I noticed she made a mistake on the Nov 30 15’ truck - she booked it with a Furniture Dolly, not Utility. Big difference!! So I fixed that online myself. The change showed up on the dashboard, and everything seemed fine. A day later I received a phone call and she says the only time available for a 15’ is 5pm! I told her she must be wrong - I already had my confirmation email for my 3:30pm reservation for a 15’ moving truck with a utility dolly. She said all she saw was my cancelation for Dec 1, but no 3:30pm reservation. I asked if there’s a way to receive some sort of compensation because this is already turning into such a huge inconvenience getting later and later in the day. All she said is that she’ll listen to the phone recordings and get back to me. No getting back to me. I obviously had to take the 5pm reservation. Later on I decided to just book a 9ft van and cancel the 15ft truck because I saw a spot available at 2:30pm. I didn’t want to be moving at 5pm when it’s getting dark. Booked it. I can’t remember if they called again or if I called them to confirm. But we talked again. Van was booked and confirms for 2:30pm on Nov 30. I asked if the utility dolly would be IN the truck or if we have to go inside to get it. She said it’ll be inside and ready for you. Nov 30 - We go get the van where I’m doing the mobile pick up. The cargo box is dirty, utility dolly isn’t inside. I asked one of the guys working at the mobile pick up area if they could clean the van which they did right away and it was spotless afterward. That was the only thing that went well with this whole experience. I know that it was month end and stock is limited at this time so I was really trying to be understanding but this was just beyond frustrating.

Agent changed oroginal return time, shortened it and forced a late fee of $200 upon a valued customer. She was unable to back up her action and rationale when requested politely by customer, arbitrarily made up a return time at 4pm, despite the fact that customer booked the truck for the day.

I had reserved a truck to be picked up at 8AM using the 24/7 online service. When I arrived, the website would not prompt the "pick up truck" option. I had to wait for the store to open, an hour after my reservation, to be helped. The person at the front desk told me that I was to return the truck according to the original time of my reservation - ignoring the hour I had lost. I was told "It's the beginning of the month, you should know we'll be busy" - then why bother booking an appointment? I was extremely frustrated that this added to the stress of my moving day. I will not be returning to this location and will have to seriously consider using Uhaul again after this experience.
