This is the 3rd time renting from uhaul where service was bad or equipment was not available
ANGEL MI expected the app checkout process to suck and somehow it sucked even worse, taking almost 45 minutes in the freezing cold. The part involving calling dozens of random people in my phone book, on Black Friday, to try to find someone to be an “alternate contact” (what even is that?) felt especially unnecessary and time consuming. But after that the truck I reserved was reserved by someone else, the customer service acted like this was an coincidence even though the exact same thing happened to me the only other time I tried to rent a truck just last month, and I ended up sharing the truck with the other party, which ballooned my bill because of the (frankly not-well-advertised nor fairly priced) mileage fee. The truck was fine. Actually the paint on the deck smelled still-wet and scratched off on everything like a lottery ticket, but overall, the truck was fine.
