I returned the trailer as agreed on Sunday August 12th after hours and an extra day was charged to my credit card without any warning. I will never use UHAUL again and buy my own trailer to avoid having to deal with your company again which is unfortunate because I have been a UHAUL customer for over 35 years. That extra $27.25 you charged me just costed you thousands of future business dollars. The lady at the location was pleasant however the establishment was a complete mess. So long UHAUL

The only negative was not the location but the process of picking up. Got an email the morning of the pickup, which I did not see until after as did not have time to read before leaving house. Said had to have a smart phone to use. What would a person be able to do without one. Luckily I just got one a smart phone for the first time about a week before the pickup. communication needs to be better with the process. Has nothing to do with the pickup location as the lady was very helpful.

Usually check in is a breeze rented a motorcycle trailer they gave me a trailer without the ramp so had to spend more time there to change it. The tools they have to do there job take for ever to do took her 20min to get a photo of my I'd cause the scanner tool she had was so slow it was ridiculous to be honest. Even bringing back the trailer it's usually drop sign out and leave not this place I had to go place the trailer back in its original spot every uhaul place I have rented from was drop and go?

I made an online reservation for pick-up in Chilliwack about 3 weeks ago. I got a confirmation the day before that there were no trucks available and this was the closet location. The front counter staff gave us additional mileage to factor in the drive to and back. However, when the rental contract was printed out, it did not include the additional mileage. They assured me it was on file. When we returned the vehicle we were charged for extra mileage eventhough we were still under the additional mileage. I called the location a few times and everytime my call was re-directed to the call centre. Each call centre rep said I would need to talk to someone at that location for a refund. After the fourth attempt, the call centre rep transferred my call to customer service and I was able to get a refund. I spent over an hour on the phone, mostly waiting.

When I arrived to pick up trailer it was a process.My truck was too high to get trailer on and the lady helping me could not hear lowering the foot would not help and that we would be just trying to lift tongue that much further. There should have been chocks behind trailer then it would not have moved as I was trying to hook it up. She also told me nobody was available to help nor was there a power jack (I thought there may be one for moving rigs then I could have re-positioned my truck for ease of loading). I called my husband and father to come help load and they were a half hour away. A gentleman that works for U-Haul showed up and helped, apparently he was onsite entire time. I am confused why she wouldn't have called him from the start. By this time my dad and hubby were half way there. This was a debacle that ended up costing me about 45 minutes to an hour, honestly I was so frustrated I lost track of time. I was less than impressed. On the bright side when I returned trailer the woman working was a different one and was extremely helpful and thoughtful!

This is the third or fourth time I've rented from this dealer. I was in a hurry this time and the rep did the paperwork as I connected the trailer. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Fantastic service.

To improve your customer service you can have the equipment reserved and confirmed ready and available and not change the order last minute. Also when customers call to make clarifications with staff have the staff asking more detailed information and not use when you've overcharged someone. This $130 rental ended up costing us $170 from U-Haul and because of the availability of the proper trailer ended up costing us another $150 to rent a forklift as we had specifically asked for a trailer with no ramp and apparently they are not available in Canada but are available on your site and confirmed in Canada and we were given the runaround at the beginning of the rental and now at the end of the rental have been essentially ripped off by charging for another day when we specifically called and could have had the trailer back but we're told and after hours return would not be charged for which we assumed was correct information because we did not leave the U-Haul lot until after hours even though our pick up time was set for 4:30 at a much further away U-Haul Depot than we had originally booked. I am one dissatisfied customer for sure!

A jack stand on the trailer would be a nice addition. I am elderly and found the weight of the trailer on the tongue a little difficult to lift on and off of the hitch on my vehicle. The assistant I dealt with on picking up the trailer provided excellent service and I had no difficulty extending my rental for an additional day when I phoned in.

Everytime i called UHaul customer service to update arrangements i had to wait on hold for at least 20+ minutes which when you are travelling or moving with limited phone and internet connections is ridiculous.

The trailer I rented was not available at that location the trailer I received made it tough to do the move I did. I thought if something was reserved online it would be available like it says it is.

As the vehicle I was going to use was only available for 4 1/2 hours, the staff at U-Haul Matsqui Place suggested I go to another U-Haul across the highway. The man there was on the phone, almost the whole time, and was extremely unhelpful. I lost approximately 1 1/2 hours of available usage as a result of that man's saying that I couldn't use a debit/credit card there. I drove back and forth between the Matsqui place U-Haul and the other U-Haul on the other side of Highway 1, Abbotsford 5x in total, trying to get a van. I finally went back to Matsqui Place U-Haul and rented a van there. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND the U-Haul on other side of Highway 1, Abbotsford, but have FOUND THE Matsqui U-Haul incredibly helpful, kind, etc. I was not able to do everything I needed to do because of the man at the U-Haul on the other side of Highway 1, Abbotsford from the Matsqui Place U-Haul.

Our overall experience was terrible. We reserved it for 9:00 in Aldergrove and it got switched to 11:00 in Abbotsford. I had to be out of my place for 12:00. I called and they switched it to 10:30 but that was the best that could be done. Considering I booked this on May 2nd I found this totally unacceptable. When we were driving to the uhaul we got a call saying the vehicle was not back yet and would be 30 minutes late. I know that is out of their control but when you have to drive another 30 minutes further to get the uhaul it was very frustrating. Shea at the location was great, which is the only reason why I am giving positive reviews. Every other portion was awful and made what is already a very stressful situation even worse.

I think there's nothing more irritating to me other than being forced to pay for unnecessary mileage as this location is too far-out of the regular path that there should be a standing discount for all customers of haul, period.

Staff were abrupt and rude. Definitely acted as though we were an inconvenience when we showed up. I also wanted to return some boxes and the woman was confrontational when informing me they had to be unused (I am aware of that caveat and the boxes were mint and unused.) Then she was quite put out that she'd need to do some work and then sent me away saying that since I had bought them at a dealer I had to return them where I bought them. Between how poorly our trailer return was handled and how poor the reservation process was, I wont ne using uhaul again if I can help it. I reserved a trailer weeks out from when I needed it, was informed less than 48 hours before I was supposed to pick it up that there was not one available in northern BC, so I'd have to take a 20 foot truck (which was unable to tow my personal vehicle). Since I was moving to abbotsford, and had a deadline, that meant I had to pay to fly another person up to fort st john so they could drive the truck while I drove my truck. Which I did. I paid to fly someone up to northern BC to help me, and when the day came to pick the 20' truck up in fort Nelson, there was no truck. There never had been a truck in fort Nelson. There was a trailer. I had already paid airfare to get someone up to northern BC to help me with the second vehicle, and there wasn't one. Instead there was a very small trailer. So despite making a reservation weeks ahead of time, I could not get the trailer I reserved, was given the run around about a massive truck, and ended up with a smaller trailer than I had reserved, forcing me to give away items I owned because they would not fit in the small trailer. And I paid for another person to come up to drive the non-existent truck. Then I returned the trailer and had an incredibly poor customer service experience. Again, the fort Nelson location was super helpful. The people on the phone with the reservation were very nice. But overall I cannot get over how poorly organized Uhaul is, how completely unreliable they are, and how rude the two women working at the abbotsford were. Overall your lack of organization cost me a lot of money. It will be cheaper to buy a trailer next time, and a lot less hassle.

If a vehicle is expected to be returned clean it should be rented clean. Also I refilled the gas tank to the level that I got it at amtwo blocks from the location and when I got my bill they had charged me to refill the tank. I will never rent from this location again or drop off a vehicle without having someone veiw it with me before I am billed. I just found my email and am absolutely appalled that I was charged $70 to rent a van for 1 1/2 hours. If I am not reimbursed for the fuel I will not be using uhaul in the future.
