This wasn't the original location I selected. UHaul had a location on their site that turned up to not be a UHaul location anymore, but of course I didn't find that out until I was already there! They said they were going to call me the day before and confirm all the details. They didn't. It took forever to get in contact with someone to find out they move my pickup location. The location that I had to go to was over 25 minutes past my apartment, so it added 50 extra minutes to the drive for the day, when I'm already having to move 2 hours away and had to drive there and back making it 4 hours of driving. It was also inconvenient because the individuals who were helping me move only had so much time. When I got to the new pick up location the person at the front was not helpful. They had to "upgraded" me because they didn't have the correct truck size. So I went from a normal 10 foot truck to a 27 foot truck. I did not considered it an upgrade since it would be too much space in the truck (my things would be flying around), it was extremely hard to drive and it would burn more gas. It also required over double the amount of money for travel coverage because it had to be two days of coverage instead of one day. The manager said it won’t let them do one day, even though I used it for less than 7 hours. The manager said they couldn't fix that on their end. He said I would have to charge my card now and when I dropped the truck off the drop off location would refund me that money. I did trusting that what he was saying was true and not wanting to drive this giant truck without some coverage. It turned out to be a lie. We go to drop it off and the gentleman at the drop off location says he can’t do that. We call the other location and the manager from earlier is not there, and they can’t do anything about it. It was a lot of back and forth and they said they would contact me. They never did. I also filled the truck up all of the way and ended up not using even a quarter of a tank. I lost so much money and had to deal with so many frustrating things on a day that is already stressful. I am so upset and disappointed with UHaul. I will never use them for anything ever again.

This location needs a complete overhaul, it was an awful experience. They didn't even have the equipment I needed even though I was charged for it. Also, I have had the worst experience with your chat agents, I mean good Lord they suck. I had to ask for my reciept TWICE. I spoke to someone named Doris on 10/3/19 and they were unhelpful and closed the chat session without notice. I then called the 800 number and spoke to someone (I didn't get her name) she was amazing. So nice and helpful. Maybe let her train the others.

This is the only actual UHaul store in Albany, that is why I have used them 3 times. My last experience as awful. I don't think it could have gotten any worse. My reserved truck was ready to go and plenty of gas for me to make a hundred mile trip. That was really awesome. That was the only good experience. The down side that really upset me is the dolly I reserved was given to someone else. When I make a reservation, things are paid for, I expect to be able to pick up what I am renting and go about my day. The ONLY dolly that was available was the one for sale that was $49.99 (I think). I was told by the associate that I could buy that one. Why would I want to do that? He sort of apologized and said there was nothing he could do. So basically, someone gets there before me, or wanted to rent one at the last minute, they get it. So regardless if it is reserved or not, it's not guaranteed. I was told that I could call customer service and see what could be done. I reserved a dolly, I should not be the one that calls customer service, the associate should. I called customer service, and once again, there is nothing we can do. I was told they would credit my card $50.00 for the inconvenience and use that if I wished to purchase the dolly in the store. Again, why would I want to do that? The $50.00 was nice, but it didn't fix the problem. My feeling is no one cared. The whole situation was horrible. My move was late starting, so therefore my schedule just got tossed. I have reserved a Cargo Trailer with a dolly for September 14, 2019 and there better be a dolly with the trailer. This is going to be the last of the things someone has been storing for me.. I will then have to move a 20 x 20 storage unit that is in Albany, GA. I plan on using UHaul again for that. But if this experience is as the last one was, I will have to be desperate before I use UHaul again. If I cannot be treated as though I'm important, then I don't want to do business with a place like that. I'm not saying that I'm any more important as the next person, what I am saying is that everyone should be treated as though they are the only customer and the most important one. This is what keeps your doors open. Train your people, check your policies, and most importantly make sure they care. In my opinion, not one person in that store cares. It's a paycheck and that's it. Well, your customers make their paychecks, so we should be treated with the utmost respect.
