This isn't about the location so much as ALL the locations in Humboldt county. I ordered weeks in advance for a 20' truck. I was notified TWO DAYS before moving that NO WHERE nearby had a 20' available unless I wanted to drive to a town 2 hours away. They also had no 26' trucks to upgrade me to. I knew a 15' truck was NOT going to work, and we were doing a one-way move 6 hours away so it's not like we could just make multiple trips. They ended up offering me a 6x12' enclosed trailer as a free addition, which still isn't as much cubic foot space as the 20' truck but was all they said they could do. I was told to pick up the truck from Rio Dell nearby and then go to another location in Fortuna for the trailer. Annoying, but whatever. But then the next night, the night before the move, I got called AGAIN stating that the location that was already guaranteed to have my truck...didn't. And I would then now have to drive clear across town to Arcata to pick it up. The truck was clean but frankly, it sounded awful compared to trucks we've rented from UHaul in the past, which wasn't great when we were driving that distance.

I would prefer a bit nicer place.
William VThis was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had. I showed up to the facility was given the keys to a truck went out. Inspected it and found the gas cap had been removed and the gas had been siphoned out of it. They had no other truck available or gas cap to replace it. They informed me that I needed to drive 25 miles round-trip to Eureka to get a replacement gas cap they put 1 gallon of gas to get me there. The light was on when I left the station mind you the U-Haul is picked up from a gas station when I arrived at the second U-Haul station in Eureka on Jacobs Avenue the gentleman who had told us to drive there tried three different gas caps, none of which worked and then told me he could “ghetto rig” something, to get me through the day. He also told me that I could go to an auto parts store and purchase the gas cap myself and be reimbursed by U-Haul at this point. I was so upset that he called the U-Haul service requested a 30 mile credit from a woman named Crystal and tried to reserve another truck that was unavailable after over an hour of dealing with this issue I was told to drive back to Arcata without a gas cap and had to go to Napa auto parts and purchased it myself for $30. The rest of the move was fine except for when I got my bill this morning and was charged for 50 miles when the entire round-trip was only 25.1 and for a quarter tank of gas when I repeat, it was bone dry at checkout I intend to report this to the Better Business Bureau all over the review apps on Google. U-Haul could correct this issue by refunding everything but my original rental fee and the damage waiver I paid for which was $40.95 total… It was a complete disaster.
Carolyn FLocation was convenient for where we needed to use the vehicle. The vehicle we rented did the job but it was definitely well used.
Tommy HTold me that he switched my drop off to a different location in Santa Rosa but didn’t actually which made me late to drop off my van within the time to have it out under a day.
