When I arrived to pick up my truck, I was met with a hostile environment that had absolutely no relevance to me renting a U-Haul truck. I am the customer and should not be involved with a personal business owner conflict. Upon reaching my destination, I learned that I could not return the truck to a dealer in the city in which my daughter moved, as directed to prior to rental. I had to drive the truck back to its original location. When returning the truck, the security guard would not allow me to park the truck inside the gate. I had to leave it outside and pray nothing would happen. The worst experience ever. I am so angry and disappointed in the service I received.

Pamela MWhen I did the reservation I choose the option to pick up inside with a customer agent. I knew something was odd when the person called me at 8 something am to ask me to call him when I got there to the location. At the time of pickup I arrived about 10 minutes before time and he was not at the location. The person gave me a key to the lockbox to pick up the truck. I was also under the impression that he would be there so we can go through all the information. All the documents that was done, I did not approve, I did not have to give them a copy of my drivers license…what I supplied online during the reservation, was what was done to complete my reservation. I rented a truck prior to this location it was located on Washington road. They walked me through everything and had me look at all the damages prior to leaving the location. They also asked me about any additional things needed for my reservation not to mention had a dolly for me there. Once I got the truck I noticed the key ignition was damaged. I am so glad I took a pic of the mileage prior to me leaving the location bc there wasn’t anyone there to me to report it. I asked the owner when do I return it and he said 8am the next day. I got back to the location and the person was not there at 8am. The owner actually asked me if I can leave and come back later (realizing that if I left and came back it would add more miles on the odometer). I told him that I couldn’t come back so the person asked if I can drive further down the road (a mile) and drop the truck off at a parking lot further down from the location. Had I known that I would been charged for a cleaning fee when there wasn’t anything left in the cab or the back, I would have taken a pic. I have pics of all angles when I returned the truck so I’d know I had proof when I dropped it off at that location. Overall I would never return or recommend this location for a Uhaul. If I have to move again, I would go back to Washington Road location.
Carlton SI wasn’t happy when my requested items were not available in the truck. When I asked employees at this location for more information, they told me I needed to call a number when I called that number. The person said they were not close enough to give me the equipment that I paid for that meant that I had to go out of my way to find other rental equipment which delayed me.
