The transmission on the truck I used was very sticky and difficult to drive across country.

1: The location was significantly farther than away than the one we originally tried to reserve online. 2: When I received the text with the location, the address was missing a zip code, I expect that in many cities this wouldn't be a problem, but without the zip code, there was a duplicate address in the same city and it was about 30 minutes away. These top two problems led to our trip starting hours after intended. 3: When we got to the location, the people were nice enough, on a superficial level. When I told them, and i quote, "This is so far the worst u-haul experience of my life, and I've only just arrived." They did nothing to fix the problems, just moved me along through the process. 4: When we finally had the rental set up, the guy behind the counter made a radio call to the guy who was supposed to hook us up with the trailer. This was obviously only for show, because when I got outside, there was nobody to direct me to where to pick the trailer up (like I'm just supposed to automatically know), and when I did figure out where I needed to be (which involved leaving the parking lot and coming back in). The guy who was getting us the trailer, still had to find it... The time between the radio call from the counter and me driving around like an idiot was not enough I suppose. 5: If I had not driven around like an idiot and observed where everything was happening, I would have easily found myself trapped in the parking lot, unable to either hook up the trailer or leave, but since I was paying attention I parked diagonally in the lane, allowing hook up and departure. You guys really need to learn to coordinate with customers coming and going to ensure not only an easy pick up and drop off, but a safe one. It appears that you rely on the customers to police themselves in an environment they are unlikely to be familiar with. A little direction can go a long ways. 6: When the trailer was hooked up we checked the lights, the guy asked me to check the brakes twice. My wife was looking at the lights with him. The guy told me we were good. When my wife got in the vehicle, I asked her if there was a problem. She said that the brake lights were barely visible. I was in a hurry since we were already way behind, and figured maybe it had something to do with the sun being out and washing the lights out... but after I left I realized, most of my trip would be during the day, and my brake lights were sub par. Overall: Not satisfied, next time your competitors will get the first shot at my business, and even if you beat them on prices... the lack of good service is likely to make me pay a higher price elsewhere.

I should have gone there first to pick up packing and moving supplies. Better or same prices than Lowes. The moving straps ($39.95) were well worth purchasing. We moved items from 3rd floor apt with ease (and I'm 62). Thanks. Not sure why there were negative Yelp reviews. Great service and very helpful.

Very good experience with the whole transaction. I did get a flat tire on the tow equipment, but the road assistance and customer service was excellent.

Took an hour at 8 am to get my rental They first gve me a trailer that had a flat tire. This was not updated in the system. I had to do a whole new contract. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and knew I had been there a while. Please have extra people in the store to do contracts. There were many people waiting and becoming upset and frustrated. There was only one person doing contracts with a line of about five people.

Justin was awesome. Helped me out of a jam when I didn't make it back in time to get everything taken care of. Call center lady- absolute fail, I am guess she was a work at home person. Advice to her, if you are going to work from home, do it when the kids aren't home.

Can't think of anything. The van that I rented was very nicely equipped and maintained. Made my work very easy. I like the tall ceiling. I was able to load tall wardrobe boxes with ease. Backup camera is a huge safety addition.

It was nearly an hour from the time I arrived to pick up the rental truck and trailer and complete the entire process. I even stopped at the office the day before to make sure everything was in order for a quick and efficient check out the following morning

The U-Haul point-of-service has always been very nice in the Aurora/Denver area. The only troublesome issues ever experienced come from communicating with central reservations. The actual local sights do a great job completing the customer contract and providing the truck or trailer. However, every interaction with central reservations is a disaster. I don't know if it is their computer reservation system screen prompts, their training, or what but the communication and resulting reservation issues are rediculous. About the only consistent thing they've had correct was my name, thankfully. Example, you state You would like to reserve a covered cargo trailer, the largest they have, for two day local use rental. Seems simple and straight forward enough. No chance for error, right. Instead, the person making the reservation for you acts as if this is the first time anyone has ever rented a trailer before. Ok sir, we have you down for a (smaller trailer - not large), for one day (not the 2 days you stated that you needed it) and a pick-up at one location (not your mentioned preferred location or any of your back-up slightly less convenient ones) with a return at another, different location. I've rented many times and it always works out in the end after wading through the induced painful confusion but it is absolutely an unnecessarily painful process. It could just be the communication process over the phone, computer prompts system for entering customer provided information or the reservations training system for personnel...but regardless who answers, it is consistently and unnecessarily wrong. When one just stops in and arranges it at U-Haul locations...it always seems to work fine, request what you want, if they have it available, they write it up, take info/payment and hook you up with keys or trailer. Do your thing and return it when done. Price is the best in the market, great experience. If you have to deal with central reservations and not the local store, forget about it. Something WILL be wrong in the end. It'll get worked out but it's a LOT of screwball mess-ups that were totally unnecessary. I recommend just going to a larger, convenient, well stocked local U-Haul location and doing it all on the spot on the day. Local business = great experience! Through central reservations = chaos, mayhem, unnecessarily induced confusion and stress. U-Haul is the best option and I've chosen them exclusively for all my moves...highly recommend. Just hang up though if you find yourself routed to someone other than the pick-up point, you'll save a lot (of pulling out your) hair and sanity until they fix their issues!
