Our 26' truck broke down approximately 1 hour into our 16-hour cross-country move. The coolant line burst, a low coolant light turned on, and we were forced to pull over. I was driving the U-haul truck and my wife and our two children, ages 4 and 1 were driving behind me. I had spent a significant amount of time planning rest stops at parks and attractions along our way. Preparing our big move has been a very stressful experience, and I had hoped to start our trip off with some happy family memories. Unfortunately, as a result of the truck breaking down, I had to tell my wife to keep driving without me so that they could make it to our reserved hotel to ensure our daughters were able to make their bedtimes and avoid the stress of waiting on the side of the road with young children. After 4 hours of waiting the truck was fixed and I was back on the road. While I was glad the truck was fixed, I completely missed out on traveling with my family. I was forced to purchase my own hotel room at an increased cost due to not pre-booking and low availability. I also drove much later into the night than I had planned in order to try and catch up. I also woke up very early to try and make up additional time in order to make it to our new home and receive our keys at the time we had scheduled to meet the realtors. This also forced me to be away from my daughters on fathers day and miss out on all of their experiences along the way. I have moved with U-haul many times in the past with great results. Unfortunately, I am strongly considering never using your company again and plan to share my story online. I hope that U-haul will be willing to reimburse my family and me for the nerve-racking start to a new chapter in our lives.

I have nothing wrong with this location. I’m greatly upset with the Colfax I225 location that sent us to this one... We were originally supposed to pick up the UHAUL from that location, when we were told we couldn’t get one until 4 PM we asked if there was another location that had the trailer we were looking for, they sent us here. Like I said, I loved the people there and the service was great... But here’s where I really had a problem with the former location, they never told us it was going to cost an extra $100 to pick it up at this location. I would have liked a warning. This messed up my moving budget and it is going to make an already expensive trip and move that much harder. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t rent again and I would certainly be asking more questions. $100 doesn’t seem like much, but for those of us on a budget and moving it’s quite a bit.

I made a reservation for 0700 at a location closer to me, but when I got there a few minutes before 0700 no one was there to open the store. There was another customer waiting there already. I waited for 10 minutes then decided to walk across the street to grab some coffee. When I got back it was almost 0730 and the other customers said no one has shown up yet. We had to call corporate to find out what was going on. They said they would call the manager to find out what was going on. About 0745 we heard back from corporate and they found someone to come in, but it would be another 10-15 minutes before they got there. Corporate called to get another location that would have the truck size we made a reservation for. So we had to drive the extra miles out of our way to get the truck. The second location was nice and polite, but I was in a hurry at this point since I was already 1.5 hours behind my schedule. The truck was clean, but had tire vibration starting at 45 mph. I don't know if the previous renter reported it or not, but I did because it was bad, especially for the long trip. After I turned the truck in, I was given my total for the rental bill and was surprised to see nothing about compensation for the trouble of the first location not showing up. Very disappointed in this experience.

What’s the point of doing all the pre work online if you still have to wait in the normal line. Maybe establish a pre paid Lind to expedite at the busier locations.

It was required at this location, but is not required at others, and since enough time has gone by to assure that there is no further liability on my part, I am requesting that the photo of my license be removed. thank you

You allow people to smoke in the vehicles and people that are allergic to it are unable to ride in them. This was the case with my wife the smell of smoke even was on our cloths after using the vehicle. I will check the vehicle first before renting from you again. If I do.

This location was fine but uhaul itself was very frustrating. We wanted to pick the tow dolly up in Aurora Co. The first time they call us and say we will have to go to Castle Rock to get it. That is a 30-45 min drive. When we go to get the truck they tell us the tow dolly is 108 miles from there. We say that is unacceptable and they say we just give them a preferred location. I’m sorry but in the middle of moving going 108 miles one way to get it is not okay. The location worked and got us one there but we did not need the added stress while moving across country which is stressful enough!

I rented a truck and tow dolly a month prior to my move. A few weeks after placing the order I noticed this location did not add the dolly for my car so I went back and was told it was added. When I went to go pick up the truck I advised I would come back later that day to have the tow dolly attached to the truck and my car placed on top of it. Well I was told there was no dolly and that there was a freeze on dollys coming into Colorado with no help or solutions being offered even though I was leaving in a few hours. This is completely unacceptable customer service!!!! I did everything I was required to do as a consumer and was informed twice by your company a tow dolly for my CRV would be available. In an already stressful situation your rude employees messing up my reservation is not okay. Thankfully I was able to fix the problem but others in this situation may not have the options I did. I will NEVER use uhaul again for any move and would highly suggest others do not as well.

Havana location was great. The Park Hill location was, however, understaffed. I wish I would have known the Havana location had much better staffing and that I would be picking up my trailer from a different location so that I could have done everything through one location.
