Maybe add more staff to the location couz there is only one guy working and it would be faster if there were more employees.

We initially chose this location due to its proximity and the availability of the cargo van. Three days before the day of pick up I was contacted and informed that their office would be closed on the day of pick up, even though when the reservation was made the office was scheduled to be open. He informed us that we could find another location or convert the reservation to a mobile pick up. Due to the limited availability of the cargo van, we had to go with the mobile pick up. We were instructed to install the app so that the employee could make sure that it would work on the day of pick up. After great difficulty, we got the app working. After multiple attempts to contact the location again, we finally got in touch, at which point we were told that we could be early for pick up but not late. Because we were flying into town that morning, we asked to have our reservation time moved back in case there were delays. This led to a plethora of problems on the day of pick up. When we arrived and couldn't access the van, we called customer support. The first person we spoke to offered very little help and didn't seem very well versed in the website or the mobile app. The nearest other location couldn't help us because they didn't have a cargo van. After 30 minutes of troubleshooting, we finally were transferred to the Baltimore booking agent. She was extremely helpful and the only person we spoke to who was friendly, polite and helpful. She realized the problem was that you have to check in within a 30 minute window of the reservation time, before or after, which is not what the original agent we spoke to said, or any one on the Uhaul helpline. She was able to change the reservation time back to our original time and we were able to access the van. These insane rules were written down no where and very few staff seem familiar with. The checking in process took nearly an hour, in an unsafe neighborhood and in a parking lot where both solicitation and a drug deal occurred while we were trying to gain access to the vehicle. Thankfully, the return process was significantly easier. I am very thankful for the Baltimore rental agent for being a bright spot in an otherwise dismal experience, although saddened that I didn't catch her name so that I could her the credit that she deserves.

The person handling my rental was very nice and knowledgeable. The van, however, was a problem. The floor of the loading area was covered in a slick, oily substance that made moving difficult and dangerous. I nearly slipped outside the back a few times, and whatever that stuff was soaked into my cardboard boxes. I've used U-haul several times in the past, but have never encountered this issue. Lesson learned. From now on, I will inspect the inside of the van before renting it, because that's not on the U-haul maintenance checklist.

I made my reservation from 10am-4 pm, but did not realize that the reservation automatically cancels in the system if the vehicle is not picked up within a half hour of the rental staff time. Fortunately, this didn’t cause any major problems because the associate was very helpful and made a new reservation for us, but I think Uhaul should emphasize this more when booking is made.

Easy parking while doing the paper work. The trucks are mostly parked on an incline so it makes the gas gauge hard to read accurately. Overall better than expected.

The location was questionable, at best. The door was closed and I had to call the reservation number to get the gentleman to open the door. Upon entering, we walked in an old convenient store that clearly had been out of business for at least a year. It was unwelcoming and, for a solo female, a little scary. I was told to return the truck by 4:30. I missed that deadline because of many things that happened on my end and couldnt communicate that I would return the truck in time because of a dead phone. When I finally was able to find a charger in a packed box I got yelled at by the “store” manager. Moving is stressful. There is no need to harass an already stressed CUSTOMER (the person who pays for the product). He said another customer needed that truck right after me but when I got there (i was threatened to be charged an extra day for 3 hrs), there were 5, not 1 but 5 more of the same sized trucks there. In fact, they were there in the morning. So, no. I wouldnt recommend this place to rent from since they are rude over the phone and incapable of showing some flexibility and mover sympathy. Also, he wouldnt even open the door for other people trying to rent trucks from him. He just shrugged them off immediately.

The agent was rude and cancelled my order after communicating all day. I had to call U-Haul in order to get any help. I was taking my kids camping and he made it very difficult for no reason. I showed up around 2:15pm on my pickup day. He asked me what time I was bringing the van back and I said 2:15. He then started calling my references and finally said "I cant rent to you" he said I was not going to return the van by 1 pm. I did that yesterday turned in my keys early, because he said that it was reserved for May 27, at 1pm. He said that the van had to be back. I passed by the U Haul shop at 2:15 yesterday and the van was still parked. I would like a refund on the time i should have been allotted. I will never rent from this place again. They lied to me and said they were not apart of the carry out restaurant Caribbean Cuisine, and they are the same company. Please refund me the difference.

I rented an utility and furniture dolly but they were not in the truck when we retrieved them from the location. This resulted in a big delay in our move because we had to move all the furniture/boxes by hand. I was glad that I was not charged for the overtime but I would preferred to have the requested tools to make our move more efficient.

Uhaul truck felt like there were bad mechanical issues, mainly the transmission. Just barely touching the brakes caused it to downshift and rev up to 5k RPMs. The vehicle was and older model where the lights barely worked nor the windshield wiper blades making it VERY difficult to drive at night in the rain. The front desk staff was very friendly during the checkout process and the truck was clean.
