PATRICK WI am extremely disappointed with my experience renting a U-Haul from Clark Construction & Maintenance LLC (6956 Cezanne Ave Ste 2, Baton Rouge, LA 70806). I was drawn in by the advertised $19.99 per day van rental, but ultimately I was charged nearly $400 for what should have been a very short, local move. The location justified this charge by claiming the van was driven 350 miles, which is completely inaccurate. My move was from Zachary to Baton Rouge, a distance of approximately 11 miles. Even after accounting for all additional errands completed during the rental, my total mileage was under 100 miles. I raised serious concerns about the mileage discrepancy and suggested that the odometer may be faulty. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, a worker at this location accused me of tampering with the odometer during pickup, which is both offensive and illogical. There would be absolutely no reason for a customer to manipulate an odometer in a way that would increase their own charges. That accusation alone was enough to completely erode my trust. I deeply regret accepting a rental from this location. I normally rent only from official U-Haul locations, and this experience reinforced why. Between the misleading pricing, unexplained mileage inflation, and unprofessional accusations, I cannot recommend this location to anyone. Proceed with caution if you choose to rent from here.
