The reason I wouldn't recommend U-Haul to a friend, is that they are unsafe. I rented a 20' U-Haul truck to move. Because the truck necessarily has no rear-view mirror, the side mirrors are extremely important. However both of the side mirrors are hard to adjust. And I found the right side mirrors IMPOSSIBLE to adjust properly. I could no get a view of the side of my vehicle with the traffic behind. After fussing with it for 10 minutes, there was no way I could adjust it the could give me a safe view of what was going on in traffic. HORRIBLE DESIGN! THIS IS UNSAFE! I have to rent another truck in a few days and I am sure it will not be a U-Haul.

Repeat satisfied customer! Not only was the 9' van great, but the team at Sunset Mini & RV Storage took care of me above and beyond twice this second time around. I mistakenly reserved my rental a day late (I could blame the stress of moving, but that was just my bad). Luckily there was a van available when I needed it and they adjusted my contract over the phone. Then the apartment we were moving into had a 6-hour delay and 1/3 of the elevators working. I needed the van an extra day. Again, the van was not yet reserved immediately after my return time (so lucky!), and they adjusted my contract over the phone without hassle. Drop-off was a piece of cake. Kind and courteous staff. They are my U-haul rental location in Beaverton for life.
Nicholas vI could not find a way to adjust the exterior rear view mirrors on the 15' van I rented. This created some uncomfortable situations.
