Both the pickup and drop off locations were great. U-Haul at the national level was underwhelming - to say the least - in its approach to customer service. My issues were solely with the TOTAL lack of communication from U-Haul during what apparently was a major server failure. At no time did U-Haul reach out to notify us of a problem. As a result, we found ourselves far from home and without the service from U-Haul that we desperately needed. Beyond the shock of learning the trailer we had reserved might not be available - we were blindsided and heavily delayed with not so much as an apology for the challenges. To date, U-Haul has still not reached out to offer any type of apology for the complete lack of communication or acknowledgement of a customer issue. If it had not been for the diligent commitment of the renting dealer, this experience would Not have had a positive outcome. At this point, the VERY LEAST U-Haul should be doing is communicating with the customer. Very poor attention to customer service on the part of the National U-haul organization. We’ll see if this note actually does any good and a reputable representative from the company reaches out to us to discuss how they can improve in the future.
