There isn't a lot of room for improvement. I have rented cargo vans from this facility 10 times in the last 4 months. Each time, the staff was on the ball, and the equipment was in top shape. The one time when availability got tight and I had to go on a wait list, Chris (the manager) came through the next morning with a phone call. The most memorable exchange : Customer : do these vans ever come back with meaningful damage ? U-Haul staff : only from customers who don't buy the coverage.

1. Not once was I told about having to supply two references in the wake of the Manhattan truck road-rager. I understand the motivation, but you can't honestly call your service a 24/7 self pick-up and assume that ever customer is going to have two references that are willing to pick up the phone at 4am. Especially if there's no advance notice! As for the other documents that one can also supply - again, advance notice! People don't carry around their passport, lease, etc at 4am when picking up a Uhaul van. This really threw a wrench in my day and will preclude me from doing business with you again. 2. The location in Cambridge, MA, was said to open at 7am. However, I was forced to wait until 7:20 until the GM showed up, because he was "helping the garbage collectors". If the location opens at 7, customers should be able to get service at 7, not have to wait for whatever else.

I'm Still Upset About The Cost Of Extending For Another 24 hrs. I Paid 53$ For A $19.99 Truck $10 Dolly And 9 Miles At 1.09$/Ea. Mile. The Second Pay Was $84 For Extension And They Charged Me Twice For 9 Miles. Very Unhappy With The Rate, And Still Waiting For A Call From The Manager Of This Location.

Got charged for 12 pads when I only got 6, the gas was not full like it was supposed to be. (cost $10 for only 9 miles), and got charged for insurance I declined on line and in person. Got ripped off for about $25 total.

The odometer mileage on receiving the car was 9 miles higher than my contract said. I notified the attendant, who changed it on the form but not in the database, so I will have to waste time coming over again and dispute ten dollars...

I’m really disappointed and upset about cambridge u-haul and their team. I m a usual customer, I rent a cargo van each week since 8 month to do my shopping for my restaurant. I usually used uhaul in mass av Boston and I’ve never had any complain. I decided to try a new location in Cambridge 4 weeks ago because of the commodity : bad idea!! Last week, I I’ve picked up my van at 12h30 pm and returned back at 4 pm, for a 16 miles trip. They charged me $1980.00 !!! For a 6000 miles trip !!!! What an amazing trip in 3 hours with a cargo van isn’t it!! I had to call 4 times to have somebody able to help me and gave me the manager phone number. I finally called him to do complain : he called me back 1 hour later and apologized about this « small difference « (I kept the phone message) I don’t know what a big difference is but I can’t imagine. It took five days to get my money back...even I explain to my bank it wasn’t my fault... I decided to go further because I like this company and a mistake is possible, even a big mistake. I made a new reservation yesterday online as usual and picked up my cargo van at 12h30 pm. I sheduled a 5 hours trip but unfortunately I ve had 23 minutes late because of the trafic. They charged me $ 29.5 for 23 mn late!! And they told me to call the manager if I wanted to do complain about that. GOODWILL GESTURE isn’t it!! I will continue to rent a van with uhaul because it’s convinient and cheap but definitely not in Cambridge. I will return back in Mass Av Boston, less convenient for me but more efficient and friendly! Forgot Cambridge definitely. Best regards
