I picked up the U-Haul truck in Fresno, California, on June 23, 2026, at 10:38 a.m. I drove to Sacramento, unloaded my belongings, and returned the truck to the designated U-Haul location at approximately 9:48 p.m. on June 23, 2026. Before leaving the truck, I called the return location and explained that I was dropping it off after business hours. The employee instructed me to park the truck in their yard and stated that they would check it in the following morning. After I returned the truck, I received a text message and email from U-Haul stating that the truck had not been returned and asking me to return it as soon as possible. I immediately contacted U-Haul Customer Support and explained that I had already returned the truck and had followed the instructions given by the local location. Customer Support advised me that they would take care of the issue. The local U-Haul location ultimately checked the truck in on June 25, 2026, at 10:44 a.m. The delay in the check-in was due to the location not processing my after-hours return promptly, not because I failed to return the truck.

JUDY GUpon arrival, we began our mobile rental. It indicated our key was in Box #2, however Box #2 was already opened and empty. We had to call Customer Service and her suggestion was that we go to another pick up site. We did not want to do that since we were already there. I asked to see if the key might have been put in one of the other two closed boxes and she gave us the password to Box #3 where we found the key for our truck. I ordered and already had paid for a Utility Dolly and there was not one in there. We turned in the truck 2 days ago and so far I have not had anyone reach out to me, as promised, nor have I received a refund for the missing dolly. Additionally, when we approached the truck, we found the gas cap was open and hanging off and the truck was unlocked on both sides. Fortunately, the truck was not vandalized and was still clean and it appeared that no gas was siphoned out of the tank. Other than those things, the truck operated smoothly on our trip from Sacramento, CA to Salem, OR.
Carrie CThe van that I reserved was given away that morning, prior to my arrival. I then had to rent a 10' truck and pay for the 10' truck even though I reserved the van online. It was also empty and I mean empty. The first thing I had to do was go and get gas. This incident tacked on 45 minutes to an already long day. This is a comment in general: Every time I have tried to use the app to reserve a truck and pick it up, I always have to talk to someone because something is always wrong or that particular location wants to physically see you. What is the point of having the option if every location can manage it differently?
