The U-Haul App didn't recognize me at this location which made it frustrating to quickly check-in and return. I needed to call customer service to unlock the lockbox. I like the mobile check-in and return idea but I've never had a successful experience with the mobile App. It was a little scary to have it still not working when I returned the truck at night, I tried the App several time and eventually dropped the key in door slot.Sandra Lisa H.

Everything was great. The U-haul employee were really friendly and willing to help. That impressed me is that when I returned back at ~7:30pm (while the location is working until 5:00pm) , there still was a person who took my key and sent me a receipt. I really appreciate his hard work. Location is also very convenient, there are many places for parking and easy to access from US-29. The truck I got was in good conditions and clean. Reservation was changed for a second time now having me drop off at a third location. This location was fine. I will not be renting from U-Haul again. I have used UHaul probably a dozen times for short and long distance moves but the customer service for this reservation with multiple location changes. The first change was to a location 25 miles from my house. The move was probably about 5 miles roundtrip so ridiculous to pay all that extra money and time. I had to talk to 2 people to get to someone who could make arrangements for me to pick up a larger truck at a closer location. Upon request she adjusted the charge to the amount in my original reservation. Then the reservation changed such that the self check in feature didn't work resulting in an hour long phone call...mostly on hold (3x) before I was able to get the truck.CATHERINEM L.

Dealer was great ...as was your help desk but I do think it's problematic that in a market as big as Charlottsville that you don't have a local emergency service ( we had a damaged rim and a punctured tire and it took close to 6 hours to get it serviced)...not exactly punctual...again no complaints otherwise...Timothy D. u haul web site is cumbersome and time consuming; web site quit twice and little help from pick-up location where lawn mower and busy street were next to service window. It took over one hour to pick up the truck, time which should be available for moving. Your new web-based approach is terrible customer service. Web site works particularly poorly and often will not open with Safari.Glen M.

The first time experience with self check in was frustrating. The one line chat person for customer service for the online check-in was poor. Luckily a representative of this location was on site and was extremely helpful. I believe he said his name was either MARK or Mike Hammond.James H.

I would make the no contact check in less time consuming and the phone verification part is the most difficult part people aren't always available to answer the phone and then to have to wait for a answer is very very time consuming . I was on site at 10:45 for a 11:00 check in and didn't get checked in until 11:30 this was entirely too time consuming. I should have just selected the regular check in option.Trina K.
It was very difficult to get the u-haul after arriving at the facility. The process was very lengthy and had many hiccups. There was no one on site and the website was clunky. I could not get the location setting to work on my phone, so I had to use a friend. There was no mention of needing a second form of ID, and information like this as well as a photo of my ID should have been asked when I first started the reservation. The customer care representative took her time doing the paperwork on her end, and did not provide any updates. The first secondary contact was rejected, and we were never told. In the end, it took about 45 min to get the u-haul, which made me late to my next appointment. The u-haul also did not have a full tank of gas, which was hard to measure when refilling it. I would not recommend anyone going to this location after hours. There should really be someone on site on Saturdays when most people are in need of a u-haul.Danielle P.
