All 3 locations I visited were knowledgeable, helpful, and good experienced. Unfortunately I drove a total of an hour and a half and waited in 3 lines because no one had a truck. The regional office was helpful, however they said they left a voicemail the day before (they didn't) and I paid the price as a result. The online check in process to confirm truck readiness, fuel, and mileage was slick and a nice upgrade since I last rented with uhaul.
It was very understaffed, both my pickup and return day had a line of 5+ people, and the staff was clearly overwhelmed
Wear masks first off. The overall rental was a mess, I made reservations a month in advance and both the pickup and drop off locations were changed with 1 day notice.
Tried to order a truck from a different location but i was sent to this facility due to limited inventory. I was understanding, but when my storage unit at the same facility did not work and I asked to extend the truck through the night to find new storage, the staff was very rude and unhelpful. Took my boyfriend 20 minutes to talk to the associate manager, who was very dismissive and on his phone for most of the conversation, to finally agree to LOOK at if that was a possibility. Very stressful for someone between living spaces to be dismissed by U-haul staff and told there are no options.
The reservation process over the phone was a bit confusing. The agent I spoke with told me I would be getting a 15' truck, but I received a call shortly after that none were available and I had to go with a cargo van. It worked out, but could have been a big problem if I had more to move.
Get better customer service on the phone
I checked in online as you advised for contact free but I was surprised that at the pick up time I had to refill all the information again. Plus, I paid for the gas and you charged me extra EZ fuel sales!! Not happy with this experience.
Only one guy checking people out/ handing out keys. On July 30 knowing they'd be busy. Didn't get my keys til 45 minutes after my reservation time and was told I still had to bring it back 4hours from my original time. Credit to the other employee that came out and checked me in and was very helpful and kind knowing it was probably a stressful day for her too. Hire more people to cover the counters though.
I understand that this is probably because of the COVID-19 crisis, but this location is extremely understaffed. Long wait to get service at the site. Chaos. Stressful experience. I was told to call in to see if I could extend my rental an hour before I was due back, but forwarded to a U-Haul number with a 20-minute wait. Was not able to speak to anyone from the location. So, that was not helpful at all. You need to hire more people.
Uhaul cancelled my reservation without reason or notifying me. Picking up my box required me to drive 30 minutes away to find a spare box. This added 2 hours to my Uhaul pickup and made it so that I didn't have enough time to move. Now I have to figure out a different solution to finish moving. Absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous

I had to wait over 30 minutes for my rental. There were only two people working during a busy Friday moving day.
The trailer had a strong smell of hotdogs that has now permeated everything we put in it despite it all being in plastic containers. I'm sure it will wear off and isn't more than a minor inconvenience.
I was supposed to pick up a rental van at SSS Auto, one of the neighborhood dealers, at 7:30am on Saturday 7/25. I called SSS Auto earlier in the week to confirm this reservation, and it matched the location on my account online. When I arrived Saturday, there were no vans in the parking lot. After calling customer service for help, I was told that I received a phone call earlier in the week changing my pickup location and that I had accepted the change. This phone call never happened. I'll admit I was a little insulted to have someone try to convince me that I had approved the change. I rushed over to the location on Fullerton, and then my account said I already had a rental out even though I had never picked up a van yet. Eventually, someone was able to help me and I picked up a van around 8:30. Unfortunately, I could only reserve the elevator at my building for a 2-hour window, and I was unable to finish moving before my reservation ran out since I started a full hour later than anticipated. This made for a frustrating moving experience.
The air conditioning did not work in the truck I rented and only had 1/8 of a tank when I picked it up.
I stood in line for around 30 minutes waiting for an employee. At least six more customers came in and got in line behind me. Customers should expect to wait in line for 30-60 minutes before being helped. This is unacceptable.
The engine ran rough the second half of the trip. The outside mirror on passenger side couldn't be adjusted which made for a very unsafe and scary drive
I have zero complaints, this was an above and beyond experience. The customer service and response time was A1!
The van was clean and the space inside worked well for our move. Staff was very helpful and pleasant too. We'll be back!

Have the keys and trucks ready for each reservation. It was more than 30 minutes from when I entered to when I got in the van.
