When I moved out of the facility, the staff were friendly and helpful, however, when I first moved in, it was opposite. I was told that although the office would be closed at 7:00 on Sunday August 9th, I would still be able to access the unit until 10:00. This was far from the truth. The building that my unit was located was closed and locked up at 7:00. I arrived at the facility at 8:00 to find this out. It was extremely frustrating and inconvenient. I contacted UHaul’s 800 number but they couldn’t help either. They said they reached out to the manager but did not get a reply. I had to keep the belongs in the UHaul truck I rented that day. I had to go to a Target to buy a lock to secure the items. Since this is Chicago, I was deeply concerned that the truck might get broken into over night, but I had no choice. These were my daughter’s belongings and she was upset and worried as well. I did not sleep due to this issue. Luckily, the next morning found all contents were OK. My daughter and I moved her belongings into the unit on Monday August 10th. When I returned the truck, they wanted to penalize me for the additional day since I was supposed to return the truck on Sunday the 9th. Apparently at this location, there are 2 buildings. One is open until 10:00 but the building were my until was located is locked up at 7:00. I was told multiple times that the unit would be available to move into until 10:00. There are signs everywhere indicating this. The Customer Service Representative who I arranged for the until told me the same. The website and app says the same however, apparently this is not true. Why someone could not have told me that my until was located in a building that closes at 7:00 is beyond me. The entire experience was extremely unnecessary and could have been avoided. If moving isn’t stressful enough, this experienced caused additional, undue and unwarranted stress. I will never recommend this facility and will have reservations to recommend UHaul for storage assistance in the future.

She went to the storage a couple of days later found a different lock on the unit and cushions to her couch, personal items (jewelry) from her deceased father and great number of things. She has photos and I feel you should reach out to her .
