On my 2nd day of moving I was back for a large truck to move my furniture. I had rented a van from this same location the day before. Slow and unfriendly employee at check in. I ordered one half dozen moving pads , but instead was charged for 6 dozen, which was corrected after I saw these pads being loaded into the truck. He fixed the error. Was given a truck with less than 1/4 of a tank of gas, but the contract showed the tank was 3/8 full. I advised the employee checking me in, and he changed it to 1/4 of a tank. He corrected all the mistakes, just didn't seem very happy to be there or be helping me. Returning the truck went smoothly on this day.

Most, not all, of the employees were slow and unfriendly. Van was nice and clean. Upon return I waited 15-20 minutes for an employee to come and check me out. The gentlemen who checked me out insisted that I was low on gas and charged me $8 for a gallon. I filled the tank back to were it was marked. When I asked why I was being charged and showed him where the gas was at when I started compared to when I finished , he still refused to admit the gas was at the correct level. Not a great experience.

Booked and was confirmed for a one way trip self pick up after hours. Got there and truck was not available. No answer from the manager of the property called 800 number and after 30 min they told ke to cancel my one way and book an in town that would be the only way to get it off the lot. Did that and tried to call next day to get approval for drop off at the one way location. Argued for two hours with numerous rude customer service reps and scheduling department telling me it is my problem. Drove truck back to original location that was way out of the way and time consuming and dealt with issue.

Because of a change in pickup in Milwaukee, it changed our drop off options in Chicago. A little inconvenient, but It worked out okay. Again, don't think we received the discount we were promised.

..I would say a friendlier attitude especially first thing in the morning.. I felt like I was at Walmart.. saying shit like "full of surprises" is not cute. But that their attitude.. people outside tho very pleasant.. it's night and day in there..

I specifically asked the gentleman who helped me if I had all day on my 4th day to return the vehicle to our second location - he said yes. However...the place I returned to said that wasn't true, showed me my contract, and told me the gentleman did not make any notation on our file to allow that. I was charged an extra 40 dollars!

Rick was very helpful and the in-store experience and picking up the vehicle were relatively quick and painless. There seemed to be something wrong with the U-Haul's transmission though. It was very hard to accelerate at times and a few times when I removed my foot from the gas it stayed at 4k RPMs for a few seconds before it realized I wasn't accelerating.

The line was ridiculously long for pick up. Had an online reservation already made which should have sped up the process but that wasn't the case. They called to confirm my reservation in which they should have specified that lines would be long to come earlier. The whole line was made up of online reservations which stated it would be quick and easy. Ended up waiting 30 minutes before we were taken care of.

Hire more staff to facilitate the check in process for reserved rental equipment. Waiting for over an hour with one person (max two people) helping check out was absurd. Everyone was standoffish and no one was willing to help. I walked inside the next day to return my trailer and the line was just as long again.

ANSWER YOUR PHONE. 2 days later and I still have not heard from anyone at your location, the worst customer service I have ever experienced from any company. This is hands down the worst place to rent any equipment and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. No regard for customer complaints, no sense of urgency, and not even a call to the customer when your equipment breaks down.

I had originally booked a Saturday appointment to pick up and realized I needed Sunday. After I changed the date I never got a confirmation of the new pick up location and sat in front of the original location for 30 min. Once I called UHaul they directed me to the correct location and I proceeded with the self check in. I though this was supposed to be a quicker process but I still ended up waiting in line for 30 min. Streamline self pick up better.
