Truck wasn’t there when I went to pick it up and ended up have to wait around for 30 minutes before it got there. Also one woman was more interested in her phone when I picked up the van and also dropped it off. She was on it the whole time even while talking to me. She was also rude and seemed like I was a nuisance than a customer. Very bad customer service



What a terrible, terrible experience. I should have learned my lesson last time I moved but I have this time and won’t ever use u-haul again. For such a huge company you’d think they’d have simple problems worked out and a better customer service system. I made my reservations in early July for my July 31 move. Had planned to pick up morning of the 31st but because we were moving to Vancouver Island and didn’t have time to waste (and miss our ferry) I decided to change the reservations to the night before (for 2 5x8 trailers). Two days before I get a text saying my one trailer is confirmed for Port Moody, 56 minutes from me. No, not happening. I call, spend 26 minutes on hold and 5 minutes total speaking to 3 different representatives. The last rep said I didn’t have to worry anymore cause my trailer was no longer reserved, they just rented it to someone else. What?! So if I hadn’t had made this call I would have driven to Port Moody and no trailer would have been there. I also requested to NOT pick up in Yarrow as I wasted FOUR HOURS last time dealing with them. They did not know how to hook up the trailer or complete any of the paperwork. We just left, complete and utter nonsense. The day before my reservation, I get the text confirmation for one trailer to pick up in Mission at 3:00 and the other for YARROW at 6:00 for a 6x12. On the phone again saying, nope, not going there and also, I need a 5x8 as I am going on a ferry and already paid. On hold 17 minutes, speak to someone, transferred, on hold again, explain again to another lady what’s going on. She said they have one available 5x8 being dropped off in Chilliwack at 4 so I can pick it up at 4:30. SOO pick up with one car in Mission @3, drive home 25 minutes then RACE to Chilliwack 30 minutes away with the other car and make it by 4:30 because they close at 5 to get my other trailer. All the while my boyfriend is at work. And if there is ANY hold up I am SCREWED. The customer service lady I spoke to said she’d call the current rental customer to make sure they are dropping off by 4pm and she would call me back. Surprise… no call back! The next morning at 9 & 10 I called the non-haul places that I was picking up the trailers from. They both said I could pick up the trailers at any time as they are already at the location, perfect. I went to one at 1pm and the other at 3pm, no rushing around. The next day —moving day— we hit the road, I called Victoria u-haul (drop off location) to let them know I wouldn’t be there at 1pm as it said on my form because I was forced to pick up sooner. The lady was extremely rude to me and said I’d be charged $20 for the late fee. She transferred me to someone who had authority to wave this, and I sat on hold for 10 minute then I got disconnected. Skip forward a few hours, we arrive to u-haul, we had reserved a 10x13 storage room and it was NOT available when we arrived. My experience with this company was horrible. I will not be using this company again. I have been trying to reach the manager of the area in which I rented the truck but she is dodging my calls and not getting back to me. Here were the problems: Wrong truck Location was far Two different locations for truck and trailer pick up No oil in truck Truck was dirty Bad service picking up the trailer We were not taught how to hook up the trailer Tire was almost flat and they didn’t help us Quote was misleading and incorrectly explained Lack of explanation of fees and insurance Flat tire which we had to patch ourselves because the guy didn’t help us at all and disappeared when we asked for assistance. I fully intend to post my negative experience on all possible social media that I can.

The vehicle was not cleaned for us. The clerk was very apologetic and said we did not have to clean it when we returned it. We did not clean it and were charged a cleaning fee anyway! I contacted Darryl Dixon and explained the situation but have not been refunded the cleaning fee to date.

I had a horrible experience and will never use Uhaul again. I had booked the truck weeks in advance for pick up in Abbotsford. The day before my reservation, I was told to pick up my truck in Chilliwack. This was a huge hassle for me in the midst of my busy moving day. The 15 foot truck is actually only 10 feet long. When I called to complain, I was told that the 15 feet includes the small cubby at the top of the truck. This is incredibly misleading and lead to me being unable to move all of my stuff. I was also charged $300 more than quoted. I will never use your horrible services again and I'll be sure to share this experience online.

Honor the original reservation. I booked my reservation on february 24th for may 28th and 29th with a return date of the 30. Pick up at the cache 21 location. A week before my reservation, u-haul called to confirm reservation. Uhaul had changed the location pick up from chilliwavk to mission, and l had me picking up on the 28th, with a return date of the 29th which was the ACTUAL moving day. I spoke to someone who told me shed have her manager ((diana?)) call me back. Guess what, 3 days, no phone call. I finally called cache 21 and spoke with laurie. laurie at the cache 21 location in chilliwack was AMAZING . she fixed the issue and worked magic and had my original reservation restored. Heads up, people who have to move dont have time to piss around with changed reservations and changed locations. My uhaul experience added more stress to an already chaotic move. If it IS policy that its a one day truck rental, (which apparently it is) then your company needs to respond to clients at the time of booking and say so. Not a month later and a week before moving day. I had several people from several families coming from out of town to move me into my house from 3 storage locations (hence the 2 day reservation) . If LAURIE at chilliwack cache 21 hadnt have fixed u-hauls mistake, id have been completely screwed.
