rented the truck for 2 days start time 3 pm told we had to return by 8 am on the 2nd days as it was rented why the hell would i pay for a 2nd day this is out right double renting of the vehicle no way we should pay for the 2nd days and not get it till 3pm . plus the tried to add dolly to bill but did not supply it

One of the only locations where you can get a u-haul truck without using the "electronic service" which is great for me because I don't have a smartphone and still wanted to use u-haul. Cache 21 in Chilliwack are wonderful to deal with!

location was amazing. Uhaul customer service and overall experience, HOWEVER, was unbelievably horrible. I will tell everyone I know, and everyone who will ever listen to me - to avoid this company AT ALL COSTS. They do not have a properly functioning business model to be able to provide the promised service to customers. Even the agents at another location told me that this is EVERYDAY, COMMON practice for them... I showed up to pick up the truck, and there was no truck. I came back when they told me, 3 hours later... still no truck. there were trucks in the parking lot each time, but neither the person there, or the people on the phone ("uhaul head office" I was told), could give me access to these trucks, nor explain why there was no truck for me, nor could they assuredly tell me when one might arrive. Finally, after a phone call (probably my 4th) where I demanded 5 times to speak to a manager, supervisor, or higher-up - MIRACULOUSLY a truck appeared at another location nearby that they could give to me immediately - 5 hours after I was promised a truck. with realtors, stratas, elevator assignments, hiring or begging for loading help, and all such things involved in moving day - you need a company that can provide the service they advertise. Again, let me repeat. there was not an accident, or even a mistake (double-booking, etc) - no, THIS IS COMMON PRACTICE to leave people without the promised moving truck that they booked a month in advance.

Truck wasn’t there when I went to pick it up and ended up have to wait around for 30 minutes before it got there. Also one woman was more interested in her phone when I picked up the van and also dropped it off. She was on it the whole time even while talking to me. She was also rude and seemed like I was a nuisance than a customer. Very bad customer service

What a terrible, terrible experience. I should have learned my lesson last time I moved but I have this time and won’t ever use u-haul again. For such a huge company you’d think they’d have simple problems worked out and a better customer service system. I made my reservations in early July for my July 31 move. Had planned to pick up morning of the 31st but because we were moving to Vancouver Island and didn’t have time to waste (and miss our ferry) I decided to change the reservations to the night before (for 2 5x8 trailers). Two days before I get a text saying my one trailer is confirmed for Port Moody, 56 minutes from me. No, not happening. I call, spend 26 minutes on hold and 5 minutes total speaking to 3 different representatives. The last rep said I didn’t have to worry anymore cause my trailer was no longer reserved, they just rented it to someone else. What?! So if I hadn’t had made this call I would have driven to Port Moody and no trailer would have been there. I also requested to NOT pick up in Yarrow as I wasted FOUR HOURS last time dealing with them. They did not know how to hook up the trailer or complete any of the paperwork. We just left, complete and utter nonsense. The day before my reservation, I get the text confirmation for one trailer to pick up in Mission at 3:00 and the other for YARROW at 6:00 for a 6x12. On the phone again saying, nope, not going there and also, I need a 5x8 as I am going on a ferry and already paid. On hold 17 minutes, speak to someone, transferred, on hold again, explain again to another lady what’s going on. She said they have one available 5x8 being dropped off in Chilliwack at 4 so I can pick it up at 4:30. SOO pick up with one car in Mission @3, drive home 25 minutes then RACE to Chilliwack 30 minutes away with the other car and make it by 4:30 because they close at 5 to get my other trailer. All the while my boyfriend is at work. And if there is ANY hold up I am SCREWED. The customer service lady I spoke to said she’d call the current rental customer to make sure they are dropping off by 4pm and she would call me back. Surprise… no call back! The next morning at 9 & 10 I called the non-haul places that I was picking up the trailers from. They both said I could pick up the trailers at any time as they are already at the location, perfect. I went to one at 1pm and the other at 3pm, no rushing around. The next day —moving day— we hit the road, I called Victoria u-haul (drop off location) to let them know I wouldn’t be there at 1pm as it said on my form because I was forced to pick up sooner. The lady was extremely rude to me and said I’d be charged $20 for the late fee. She transferred me to someone who had authority to wave this, and I sat on hold for 10 minute then I got disconnected. Skip forward a few hours, we arrive to u-haul, we had reserved a 10x13 storage room and it was NOT available when we arrived.
