The customer service at this U-Haul location was exceptionally poor. The entire process, from pickup to return, fell short of the standards I have experienced at other U-Haul locations. During pickup, the process was rushed, and essential equipment was left out despite being paid for. The return process was even more frustrating. The attendant who was supposed to check me in was extremely rude. I was present when another customer returned their vehicle after me, and the attendant, who was speaking their language, appeared to be having a good time with this person. They demonstrated exceptional customer care for this individual. I had arrived ten minutes before this person arrived. After the attendant had laughed with this person, he inquired about my departure, as the customer needed to park their vehicle. Prior to this interaction, I was unaware that this person was the attendant. I mistook them for friends who had met there. As he asked me the question, my response was, “What does it matter?” I then asked, “Who are you?” He responded, “I work here.” I did not receive the same warm response that the other customer had received. The situation escalated further when I requested to be checked in and completed while I was there. Instead, the attendant informed me that I had to wait and that he would complete the check-in in an hour. I decided to do self-check-in, but I was unable to complete it because I was being charged for equipment that I had not received. The attendant had walked down to assist the person who had come in after me to complete their check-in. As I asked him how I could get the equipment removed that I had not received, he responded with great rudeness and stated that he would complete it if I hadn’t. I responded with, “Okay,” and followed him into the store. I asked him if he was going to take off the equipment, and he replied, “Yes.” I stood there waiting for him to complete my transaction, and he informed me that he would send me an email with the completed transaction. As he was in front of the terminal, I asked him if he was doing mine now, and he replied, “No.” I told him when it’s complete, you will get an email. I left the store because I was becoming increasingly angry and was about to lose my temper. I would never recommend renting from this location.
