Make sure the combination to access the lock box is actually correct. It took me an HOUR to get the keys because the combination given to me was wrong and no one would answer the phone to help me. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

I actually had a terrible ordering experience. When I placed my order online, I selected a different Uhaul location, and it was the pick up location that was confirmed in my email confirming my online order. The day off pick up, I received a phone call asking me to schedule a pick-up time. I was initially confused. I had to move my up time up by an hour to accommodate the shop's closing time which was an hour and a half before what the closing time was listed on their door. I understand things happen and you may need to close early, but something should be said about there needing to be a change in the office hours that day. On my way to pick up the truck, I received yet another phone call checking to make sure that I would be arriving on time. I had already explained to the woman on the phone that I would be leaving as soon as I got off work and would be there as quick as I could. She called me 5 minutes before my appointment! I was not late, yet. I ended up being late because up until this point, I had not been told that the pick-up location was different from what I had selected online. So I went to the wrong store. Saturday, moving day, I received a phone call from the shop about 9:30 am asking if there was any chance that I would be finished with the truck before my scheduled drop-off at 12:30. Luckily, I was running ahead of schedule and I was able to return the truck early. I did so because I knew how much easier the truck was making our move, and wanted to have the customer the same ease. A little over an hour later I received another phone call asking for an update on our progress in returning the truck. I was able to say that the truck was on its way, but by this time I was just annoyed that I was getting so many phone calls when anyone who is busy moving is a little busy that day. I ended up feeling as if the business office was selfish, rude, impatient, and truly only in the business for themselves. They were more than happy to rent out the truck, but only if it was in their personal availability and regardless of the store's listed hours when I was the one doing them a favor by bringing the truck back early.

I reserved a truck online for 24 hours since I was moving across state. When I went into Helton's to request my truck, the older gentleman told me that it was due back by 4 p.m. I said that I had reserved it for 24 hours. He said, "Well, you can't have it for 24 hours. It's being picked up by another customer at 5, so it has to be back here by 4." It went around a bit because I was trying to figure out what had happened and see what my options were. Since all the other equipment was booked through the end of the month, I was on the verge of requesting a refund and/or seeing if my transaction could be transferred to another city. I began working with a younger lady and requested a refund. When I explained why, she started butting heads with the older gentleman. Over the course of her trying to see if another U-Haul had anything available for me, we discovered that when the older gentleman had been unable to reserve my truck for another customer (because it was already reserved), he had double-booked it by scribbling something down on a notepad. In short, the older gentleman ignored the U-Haul reservation system and wanted to run the shop like some mom-n-pop grain and feed. Part of me hates to give such a low rating because the two women of Helton's really stepped up and behaved like professionals. They stood up to the older gentleman and saved the day for me. I don't want this rating to reflect on them since they both did their jobs well, and I appreciate their patience and the fact that they went to bat for me. But. Based on my experience, I would have to warn any potential U-Haul customers against renting from Helton's if at all possible. I've had fantastic experiences with U-Haul in the past and will probably use them for my next move, but Helton's should be avoided until improvements have been made.

Helton’s was great. Your service of reserving a truck online on the other hand is hideous. Reserved on the 20th for a certain location pick up. Reservation confirmed. The day of pick up, my location changes. I go the new location. I have no truck. Then i have to wait 30 minutes for the location to open and luckily mr helton was able to provide me a truck. I had to pay a full day rental fee for a 5 hour use. Your online reservations was a terrible experience. You should stop doing it altogether. I will never recommend anyone making reservations online to anyone. Thank you Bill Helton at Helton’s for helping me in a time of need. terrible

I had a truck reserved to pick up. When I arrived the girl told me that the truck I had reserved (given my credit card for a deposit) had been rented earlier that morning. Again... I had placed a deposit on that truck two days prior.) They finally offered a larger truck for the same price. I accepted that and used truck. I walked around and inspected truck with my son prior to returning it later in the evening. I made absolutely sure the gas was where it was when I originally left with the truck. In fact, I took pictures of the trucks dash showing fuel level and pictured of inside box of truck, cab of truck, and outside of truck. There was nothing wrong with it. Then I received my bill and they had charged for 3.5 gallons of gas then deducted that amount. They had a $25 cleaning fee on bill which I take exception to as well. Again, when we arrived in the evening to return the truck and 2 of us looked the truck over for fear someone might try to do just what happened..... Charge us for something totally wrong. I am calling your customer service number to visit about the way this transaction happened.... I assure you I will not be back to this location again.

The door had way too much spring in it. Every time we opened it it would shoot up and we would have to push it back farther to maneuver it to not catch on the truck so we could close it.

As I returned the truck, the lady was closing early. I cleaned out the truck and placed the key and paperwork in the drop box. the next day I was charged a cleaning fee anyway. When I called, the lady said the person who handles the charge backs wasn't there. I asked to be called back, no one ever returned my call.

It took them over 2 hours to get me a truck. No one called me to tell me there was going to be a delay. I was sent to another location , only to be told they did not have a truck for me. Tell I was sent back to the original location. I was told there would be no charge , but of course there was. I asked for a discount only to be told that it was not up to them to give . I have used U-Haul numerous time, but this is my finally time to use them , and I will tell everyone how I was treat by the people that help me.

Everyone at this place is customer oriented and very friendly. They take care of business and furnish good clean equipment.



Reserved truck for a day (24 hours) the employee handling the paper work told me to have the truck back at 2 because they booked it with someone else when I paid for a day (24 hours) Heston’s customer service is poor, they are rude and Treat you rather poorly. The only reason I use them is because of their location. Also van was dirty on the inside and the Cargo portion was poorly kept as well.

After getting a 24 hour reservation online two weeks in advance, I was told at the store that I could only get it for 9 hours. I was charged the same price, and had to downgrade from a 17' as requested, to a 15'. Worst experience of my life.



The truck I rented had a passenger side mirror that didn't stay in place, didn't work properly which was a hazard when I was driving on the freeway and had to change lanes to merge to the right. Fortunately I was able to navigate that merging spot without incident. When I stopped I ended up getting some packing tape to tape it in place. I made a note of this on the contract I returned so they could get it repaired

Never allow Heltons Wrecker Service to be a vendor/distributor for UHAUL. They are the worst people i have ever had to do buisness with. Extremly unprofessional, disrespectful..i could go on and on. Have the equipment that was promised!! I had a furniture dolly & regular dolly on order got neither one was offered a appliance dolly at a discounted rate which I did not get a discount couldn’t use it anyway



The uhauls were great, but they need to work on their people skills. Some of them are somewhat rude.
