The overall experience was good. However, I opted for mobile pick-up and had to go to the counter to assist me. This wasted some of my time. Please take a note to ensure mobile pick-up works well. More details: I went online to uhaul.com and selected my recent reservation and was told to go to next step to continue and select the vehicle. However, I was taken back to a FAQ page which took me again to a page which took me back again to a page to continue. Basically, It was all in a loop and frustrated me. please ensure this is working fine. Additionally, I had a pick-up at 10:00 AM & drop-off at 2:00 PM. I took the rental around 12:30 PM and went to return the vehicle around 1:55 PM. There was no one at the counter and I had to drop-off key inside the office door. In the evening, what I see is an additional pending charge for additional day which should not be the case. Please correct & update the correct amount. Finally, your customer service call waiting time is too long, I had to wait for 10 minutes and finally gave up on hope to get connected with anyone. Please do not do this to your customers. You guys are great & I hope you improve.

When I booked online the confirmation was at my preferred location. The day of the pick up I called to let them know I was running late but the call went to voicemail I let a message no one every called back. I went to get the van and was told he did not have a truck for me despite what my paperwork said. I think his name was manny his customer service skills are horrible. I then called U HAUL customer service and was on hold forever (horrible). The customer service person aploigized for U-Haul not contacting me with the location pick up change but brushed it odd like oh my time sitting on hold forever and driving to wrong locations is not big deal ? My time does have a little value. I was told of the new location to get the van, the service at this location was excellent but I want to pick up near my home that is why I put in my preferred location. That rental was $506.00. Since then I rented another U HAUL this time you texted the location to get the truck again not near my house and I live near plenty of U-Haul locations. I get this system is all about not moving inventory and having the customer drive farther to maximize profits but don’t think this makes us happy. Also I am sure you know the trucks are always dirty on the outside? Yes that saves money increases profits but a $20.00 wash once a week or twice a month would be ok? In the past 60 days I probably spent $1500 at U-Haul so I am an active customer. I would not waste my time writing this nor waste your time reading this for nothing. The customer experience is horrible.

I was surprise with the price. $$$ I thought it would be cheaper, plus gas level was not where the paper I got said it was (3/4 of the tank) it was lower. I dropped off the truck with full tank and U-haul employee informed me there was no refund. I ended up paying more than the estimated price.

I ordered on line a dolley. But I did not get one. Unfortunately I did not get one. However I did not find that out until I arrived at the destination. I am not sure if I was charged for it. I enjoyed everything else about U-Haul

My original reservation, which was made 2 weeks in advance, was not for this location. I was not informed of the updated pickup location until I arrived at the original location, starting the whole rental process off on the wrong foot, pushing back my timeline, and affecting my mileage. I was given a number of excuses as far as why I was contacted, all of which were ridiculous, I work in customer service and these excuses definitely wouldn't fly where I work. I will give credit where it is due- I was told that I will receive a $50 guaranteed pick up credit for this inconvenience. Additionally the location it's self was adequate, which is represented in the score above. Once I arrived to the updated location I feel like they took advantage of me being a women and upsold me on the additional insurance. I told them I didn't want it when originally offered and two employees, one being the manager, pressured me into reconsidering as they reiterated that this was a "commercial vehicle" and regular car insurance wouldn't qualify. They never took the time to explain financial responsibilities if I denied the coverage and was in an accident, they just kept pushing the coverage. After a 5 minute conversation going round and round, where I tired to deny the coverage multiple times, I gave in and purchased the policy almost out of desperation so that I could get on with my day which had already been negatively affected. When returning the vehicle later that day I heard the same staff member check out a male renter and when asked about insurance he declined and the staff member said "ok, if there is any damage you'll be responsible" and let it go. Why the double standard? I rent with Uhaul because they are supposed to be a reputable, respectable company but I did not feel respected during my transaction. With the stress of moving and the manager being part of the upselling in my earlier conversation I didn't bother bringing up my feelings to them upon return, I didn't want to hear any excuses. The more I thought about it the more it bothered me, it's not about the money, it's about equality and good, trustworthy business practices. Is this what Uhaul wants to represent, inequality, sexism, and being untrustworthy? Also let it be known this is not my first negative experience with Uhaul, but after the first instance I figured I'd give them another chance which was ultimately a mistake. I will not be renting from UHaul ever again.
