The location I rent from is great, but U-Haul keeps putting holds on my accounts that don't clear/come back for days, then charges the full amount for the rental at the same time. It's awful, and has caused my work account to become overdrawn multiple times. This never used to happen- they used to keep the estimated hold, then just added whatever additional fees I incurred to that hold. This "charging me twice" method, tying up money in my account is ridiculous.SARAH L.

Have all equipment available at each large location. Uhaul in North Smithfield is closer to my home but didn't have the trailer I needed. I have to go out of my way to pickup and drop off. Customer service was great.ERIC S.

When someone rents a storage unit make sure there is one available. Had to go all the way to Pawtucket for a storage unit. Add a lot of time to an already long day. Further, I did not get the first month free discount on the storage rental that I would have at the Mendon location. Really turned a good start to a move into a bad taste in the mouth.Les M.
The location is okay. The staff doesn't want to help us and asks us to do the pick up and return using the app even during the regular hours . It takes some time for a person renting the truck for the first time using the website . Not a pleasant experience. Other than that, everything was goodSREEKANT S.
Rental return was extremely difficult. Online return was not a pleasant experience and I shouldn't have been charged a penalty for early return the evening before it was due. I was exhausted and not able to work through your return website. I was also charged for not sweeping out the truck. It was not dirty. It was stated there was broken glass. I didn't have anything glass being transported. I only had lawn ornaments and outdoor furniture. I was charged a penalty. I wasn't told to sweep on my return. I was charged a cleaning fee. Do you clean your rental car before you return? I left a full tank of gas and returned a day early. I will peruse other rental companies in the future.GEOFFREY D.
Returning the truck took too long the app that you have to use kept kicking me out. The way it was all long was better and easier. Since i can remember this was a quick process now its time consuming & confusing. Never mind if someone does not have a cell phone how would they return the truck?MARTA M.

I had the simple task of moving an item and needed to rent a trailer for a couple hours. Upon initial arrival, I was told the trailers only had flat electrical adapters to plug in trailer lights to the truck, and not round 7 blade which are very standard. They would sell me an adapter. I opted to come back the next morning with a different truck which did not require an adapter. Upon renting the trailer for a few hours, I was urged to buy the U-Haul insurance for just as much as the rental. I already have insurance so declined. They told me I was liable for $6,000 minimum damages if anything went wrong with the trailer while I was renting. Upon attaching the 5 x 8 trailer to my truck, I realized this trailer was a giant rust bucket. All bolts, hardware, wheel lugs completed rusted to the point of fully seized. This trailer was never maintained and worth no more than $500 never mind the $6000 minimum they were looking to extort for using my own insurance. I was now more worried about my cargo on this disaster on wheels. The final straw was the store clerk who told me in order to return the trailer for my convenience, I had to Login to U-Haul from the parking lot from my own computer or smartphone and enter all types of information, on U-haul's website, give U-haul access to my photos, give U-haul access to my location along with other private, unnecessary and invasive requests. Upon return within the timeframe I rented for, I tried to use U-Hauls website to return the item. While on the website there were repeated errors and I could not finalize the process for over 15 minutes. I then found the clerk and asked that he could check-in the trailer as returned because I'm having difficulty with the website and connecting. He said he cannot do that, and if I can't figure it out, U-haul would charge me additional fees. I'm just wondering where customer service went, and how customers are now responsible to overcome technology obstacles or be penalized. Is this just another sneaky and clever way to bilk customers? Where does the buck stop?JAMES B.

The guy working was very nice and helpful. The only issue was that he was there all alone. This caused the wait time to be longer than it should have been. I got there at 5:45 for a 6pm pickup and wasn't out of there until 7. The â€œlocationâ€ feature on the website is awful. While dropping my rental off close to closing time I attempted to use this feature and it would not work. I refrained from going inside because of how long it took during pick up. I tried and tried with the app. The store eventually closed and I got so fed up that I left. Then I got charged 20 bucks for an after hours drop off. The extra fees are outrageous. The employee was great but uhaul really needs to step up.OWEN R.
