We arrived at 4pm, our pickup time per the reservation, the only person on site was someone repairing the building that had apparently been part of a fire and was no longer usable as an office. The man on site told us the person who was to check us in for our U-haul rental usually just 'sat in a lawn chair in the parking lot and waited for customers.' However, just before we arrived the man we needed to see had gone out and should return soon. He did call the employee and let him know we were there waiting. After 45 minutes we called the number on our contract, a number that was for a totally different busines as far as I could tell... the lad disconnected me, hung up on me, lied to me, and finally after 4 or 5 calls to her, I gave up. An hour an twenty minutes after we arrived, the man who was supposed to be giving us our rental showed up.... he messed around with his phone for a while and couldn't figure out how to check us in for our rental... finally, I was able to submit our information from my phone... or so I thought... the guy gave us the keys to the truck and we left to pick up and deliver our belongings. The next day, we called the 800 number to get the name of the place in the town where we thought we were supposed to drop of the U-haul... only to be told the truck was never signed out to us and we SHOULD NOT under any circumstances drive it until the situation was resolved... since the truck was now considered stolen!!! It took a few minutes but the folks on the phone were able to find our reservation and give us permission to return the truck to a nearby U-haul facility. The guy at the pickup location had no clue what he was doing, kept us waiting for him for an hour, and then turned a truck over to us without even registering it to us. When we asked him about paying for the truck... he said they would do that on the return, he misled us about the cost of the insurance, let us take a truck we were in essence stealing!!! and runs his business from a lawn chair in a gravel parking lot according to the man working on the building.... this place is a disaster and I would not suggest anyone try to get a rental from then.... We have worked with this facility several times in the past and have never had any issues with them... not sure what has happened (other than the fire) in the last year and a half ... but what a mess!!!
