I was extremley upset with a phone call I received from Uhaul reservations (main calling centre- not the Dawson Creek locations fault) the day we were travelling to a location 7 hours to pick up our uhaul we required. When i asked for assistance with finding a different trailer in another location/town along the way, the agent i spoke to did not offer to help us find one, but instead told me"well I cant build you a trailer". I became very angry and told her that I did not need her sarcasm and would like to speak to a manager she just replied "shes not here". Fortunatley, the agents for Uhaul in Grande Prairie and Dawson creek were professionals and helpful and we were able to get the service we required. If i have any other choices in future moves, I will not be using UHAUL again based on the unproffesional, rude, sarcastic and not at all helpful agent that I dealt with on that day on the telephone . I would highly suggest that that agent seek a career doing anything OTHER than providing customer service.

I was charged extra for delivering the unit an hour late when i was sitting there waiting for him to figure out my charges for an hour, not to mention my bill said i picked up the unit at 12 pm 2 days ago when i didnt actually get it until 1 or 1:30 because they were too busy to get the paperwork done with.

Have the van where it is reserved at and where you reserved it for. We had to drive to another town and the van was late arriving. Even though we reserved months in advance, there was no van in Fort St John. We do not think we would use Uhaul ever again. Way to much stress involved due to being unreliable. I called to ensure the reservation 3 times prior to pick up and the person on the other end confirmed that a 26' truck/van would be ready in Fort St John and when we wen to get a van there was not one there. Very unorganized company. Makes it hard to plan a move.

I paid X amount of $ for a one way trip. The next time I rented for a one way trip the exact same route my bill was half the price. Check the rates before you rent.

This U-Haul rental was the worst experience I have ever had. I made an advance booking 2 weeks prior specifically as we needed to fly from Calgary to Fort St John therefore pick up was critical in FSJ. First of all someone phoned and said that we had to collect the u-haul at Dawson Creek this cost me $200 for a one way car rental as there is no other way to get to DC. We arrived an hour before pick-up was scheduled and told to come back in an hour 12.30 on our return the u-haul was not available as the previous person was on his way to DC we were advised to return at 3.00pm at this point we were told that the person was in Williams lake 6hours away. We had stuff to deliver in Prince George and left. This inconvenience meant a drive back to DC from PG 400km $100 extra in fuel and considering we still had to drive back to Calgary, we made it to Edmonton by 8.30pm and stayed over for the night &150. AT no point did anyone apologise offered any discount or anything the U-Haul guy said this a regular occurrence and he is tired of having customers screaming and complaining to him. So U-Haul well done it will be a cold day in hell before I use any of your services ever again.

the truck had very loose steering and I was constantly trying to compensate the steering just to stay in a straight line, It was a very stressful 5 hours of driving. When I told the person on the receiving end about this he just replied with an "uh huh" like he didn't really care what I had to say

Actually take the time to train your employees. I was in there for an hour and a half waiting for the guy to properly put the info into the computer. He called the uhaul help line three times and was told three times by three different people that they couldn’t help him ????????

We called ahead and reserved a trailer for Sunday March 11 for pick up at Dawson Creek. Saturday mid afternoon we rec’d a message from Ft St John (hr north of Dawson Creek) that we had not picked up our trailer and would be charged for it. No explanation fron Dawson Crk location. Ultimately we had to settle for a smaller trailer which we picked up in Dawson Creek. We called Ft St John and although our calls were never answered we did leave a message explaining that it was a U Haul booking error and to date no charges from Ft St John have showed up. Am afraid we have totally 0 confidence in U Haul reservation system and would certainly not recommend them. Your employee was only doing the absolute minimum, detached and was just there.

The location and andle of the trailers made it difficult to back up to, and pull out of once hitched. Maybe andle the trailers towards the road?

Experience. Before I rented the trailer from you guys, I called the location 7-Day times over the course of several hours. Not once did the answer. I had to physically go down to the store to inquire on availability. Luckily they had one trailer that was left. I took it for what was supposed to be a two-day rental, and it actually ended up being over a week. When I rented the trailer the trailer was absolutely filthy! Ironic, because the company that contracts your franchise happens to run a car wash... Also, there was no wiring harness for the trailer, so I had when I took the trailer my staff picked it up and we had to run the trailer without any running lights. When I brought the trailer back, the place was closed, and they called me back almost 20 hours later noting that I had returned it, and they claim that they can confirm I dropped it off the day before. Anyways, it was an absolutely terrible experience, with absolutely terrible customer service and improperly maintained equipment. Will definitely not be using U-Haul Dawson Creek again. Sorry for the poor grammar, I am writing this on my phone. If you are looking to "give credit where credit is due" , I would suggest you give me another customers who have experienced the same a refund on part of the rental. Regards, Josh Gilmour

We tried to resolve our issues with Uhaul directly before providing a negative review in case a resolution could be made but we still haven’t heard back and our issues remain unresolved. 1) 26ft Truck we reserved a month in advance for Fort St. John wasn’t available, it was in a city 2 hours away 2) 20ft truck we were able to find in Fort St. John was reserved for the following day at 1pm but was never returned so we had to drive 1 hour away to get a different one after waiting all day for the truck we reserved to be returned (forced to pay for gas for 2 vehicles and now behind moving schedule) 3) All the dolleys in the Dawson Creek location were broken and customer service on the phone was no help and racist (he was more interested to know if the uhaul retailer supplying broken dolleys was black, Hispanic or East Indian, they should be ashamed) so we had to buy our own Dolley 4) 20ft truck wasn’t big enough of course since we reserved a 26ft truck that wasn’t available, so we had to rent a utility trailer and buy our own hitch (now 2 days behind schedule) 5) Utility trailer wasn’t maintained and blew a tire out. Road side assistance took 3 hours to tell us it can’t be fixed and shouldn’t have been driven in the first place (great when you’re travelling with a 7 month old baby) 6) Drove to ANOTHER city to rent a new trailer but this uhaul location was incompetent and made us wait 1 hour so his wife could drive there from home to do the paperwork. He didn’t even know what time it was and said he was closed when he was in fact open. This is the Lake Country location. 7) Customer service on the phone was less than helpful during this whole process. 8) Our planned 2 day move turned into a 5 day move with lost work wages, anxiety, stress and a crying baby for a 14 hour drive that was supposed to be split into 2 days but couldn't since we were already behind schedule. I don’t think there can be enough feedback to improve the next customer’s experience. I wouldn’t recommend Uhaul to anyone who wants a stress free move. The only uhaul location who didn’t give us an issue was the final location we dropped off at because nothing was involved. Summary: No customer service in call centre, reservations are pointless, incompetent retailers and death trap vehicles. I will be sure to spread the word.

The equipment wasn't ready when I arrived, it was dirty, a rear light wasn't working and had to be replaced, I had to instruct the person hitching the trailer to cross the safety chains, and to make matters worse, the lights stopped working completely in the latter stage of my 16 hour drive due to corroded wires. As roadside assistance would take several hours to arrive, I was given the option of driving the trailer WITHOUT lights working for another 25 minutes to the nearest U-Haul location to have them repaired. As a bonus, the drop-off location wanted to charge me another day due to delivering the trailer late...yes, at this point I blew my top called customer service and initiated a complaint. After 48 hours, the extra day charge was reversed and I was given a $50 credit. Personally, I feel a full refund was in order!
