It would be nice if the all the staff were at least a bit familiar with the U-Haul process. Most importantly, if a unit is returned during open hours, closing the agreement with a final bill at the time of drop-off is preferred and expected. I received mine 2 days later. Unfortunately, we live in a scammers time and so customers will want proof of drop-off, that all is good and a final charge at the end of the agreement.
MICHAEL FThis station was extremely poorly managed and the equipment was missing and not maintained at all. It took almost 2.5 hours to get the truck and the manager was not on premises to help us, and the Uhaul representative on the phone was not very helpful. Terrible experience
Evan HShort staffed, employee didn't know what to do regarding rental, despite my making the reservation 2 weeks prior and confirming that THIS location had the specific size trailer I needed, less than 24 hours prior to my pick-up I got called saying they didn't have the size trailer I reserved and instead I could have the much larger sized trailer. I didn't want the larger size trailer with 2-axles. So now I had the largest size trailer half empty and destroying my fuel mileage. Instead of using 1/4 tank of fuel approximately I used 3/4 tank of fuel due to significant weight and size increase with this monster trailer. U-Haul in general I have found is getting worse and worse in the last few years. More often than not I am NOT getting the vehicle I reserve well ahead of time, instead I get something bigger or a combination to equal more than originally wanted. Yet, I'll drive by 3 other locations that are all sitting in the parking lot the exact truck or trailer that I wanted. I remember back years ago when U-Haul actually cared about its customers and would actually ensure that what a customer rented was what a customer would get, even if that meant U-Haul would relocate the vehicle to your pick-up location prior to the customer's pick-up date / time. Guess those days are gone..... U-Haul needs some competition so that they can learn again to treat customers properly and professionally, starting with ACTUALLY providing the customer with what they reserved several weeks prior to pick-up, especially when the customer CONFIRMED with the location at time of reservation that the specific trailer was AVAILABLE at THEIR location.
Justin HHad to wait for a specific staff person. I have rented Uhaul trailers for many years; I have never had to go out in the field to get it by myself; heavy trailer tongue (6x12) in the frozen mud with no crank to winde it up; chains were on the ground; frozen snow banks surrounded the trailer. The representative had nothing to do with helping or even observing how trailer was attached. I am accustomed with staff lending a hand; taking a picture of the final connections; checking the trailer lights etc.. This guy did nothing and said “ if you want help I will charge you extra”. Knowing how to connect trailers, I was ok but I really fear how people who have no knowledge going onto the highway with trailer connected improperly!! Possibly dangerous for all those on the road!! If this is new Uhaul policy then I suggest that it is irresponsible.
