The experience at Bush Oil Company was exceptional. The experience at Midgard U-Haul in Simpsonville was the worst customer experience I’ve ever dealt with. I made a reservation for 2:30 the day before, I called approx 1.5-2 hours away to report I was running about 30 mins late, but would be there before 3:15. I get to the office at 3:05 and there is no one there, the agent on the computer monitor told me there was no one there to hitch the trailer and it couldn’t leave until the next morning. If this was the case, why didn’t the agent tell me this when I was still 1.5-2 hours out and called to tell them I was on my way? I had driven from Floyd, Va to pick up a motorcycle I had purchased in Simpsonville and was then continuing to Charleston, SC, my home. I was completely stranded and facing a return drive (approx 200 miles) the next time I had time off from work. So the result was not to call a field agent or someone from a U-haul nearby to come and hitch up, but to have me drive and extra 14 miles to Easily, SC. There at Bush Oil Company, Rhett, doing the honorable thing, was reluctant to rent the trailer he had go on a long distance one way because it was scheduled for another customer in 2 days. He went the extra mile, made some calls and was guaranteed a replacement if he rented the trailer he had to me. Consummate pro, friendly and efficient. So, I would never deal with Midgard in Simpsonville again, I have never seen a situation so avoidable that was handled so flippantly. Bush Oil Company and Rhett saved the day, 5 Stars.

How U-Haul Reviews WorkThe box truck I rented was a bit older but ran very well, used it for about 10 hours, everything was clean as expected and pickup (using the app) was pretty easy, only complaint was that the truck did smell of old cigarette smoke, like the kind that's baked into the seats and stearing wheel, But unless you replace the seats completely and stearing wheel, there is not much you can do to fix that, and I don't believe U-Haul the company, gives any assistance to it vendors in getting such components at a discount or company price, guaranteed comes directly out of the vendors pocket. So aside from that, great place, will rent again!
