They charged us for the gas even after my husband filled it up. What happened is he dropped it off over the weekend when they were not opened, and still charged him the gas even though he put the gas in before he brought it back, we always make sure. So not happy about that!

I rented a 17' truck to move my household. The truck was clean, but I couldn't adjust the outside mirrors because they were frozen. The "all weather" tires aren't adequate for winter driving - they spin out on minor hills and on flat roads in town. I should have asked for chains. It was a frightening experience.

Have locking gas caps. Unfortunately it seemed. someone had stolen gas from the U-Haul vehicle prior to me picking it up. The manager / customer service rep. Was very friendly and helpful

The truck that I rented was nice and new and the price was fair but the clerk that check us out was very impatient and took no time to explain the options for renting the truck and the truck may have been clean on the inside however not so on the outside we had to go back in to ask for a snow brush to clean the snow off the truck and when we did, the same clerk came out side to do it himself which was very nice of him but he only brushed off the hood and front wind screen and went back inside you still couldn't see out of the door windows so we had to wait around until the truck would warm up enough to thaw them out really well..............not a big deal but for the big price of renting the truck I think the least they could do is give us a truck that is ready to go and not have to be messed with first...........Thank you and yes with a bit of warning I would recommend this to a friend?

Was notified by phone that the truck was not going to be ready for pickup on the scheduled day of DEC 1, "as it was still with a customer and would then need the 15k mile maintenance completed first". I was asked if this was a problem, I said it would not be, that I could pick it up later or next day. On the afternoon of DEC 1st I phoned to check the status of the truck. The person who answered the call acted as like I was crazy, and stated that "no. we have the truck and its ready" then said they may have called to say it would be ready. But I know what I was told and that information caused me to delay the loading. I picked the truck up early evening on the 1st, and waited till next morning to load . Not sure what the mix up was or why, The rest of the trip went well, truck was great.

Just because of where it is situated I had to drive quite a ways out of my way to get going the correct direction on College Rd to get into the driveway. Otherwise all was very good.

the truck was not warmed up and ready to go at the agreed pickup time. No mechanical problems were encountered. The pickup bed was full of snow the and had to be shoveled out. All considered it did what I needed,

I picked up a truck with a fuel tank which read “full”. 26 miles later the gauge still read full. However, when I stopped to top off the gas tank it took 8.64 gallons. That was a whopping 3 miles to a gallon. When upon returning the truck I pointed out the discrepancy. I was told that vehicles use more gas in cold weather. That is correct, but the use is not as dramatic as this. Nor was the weather very cold. It was above 0°. Clearly the gas gauge was faulty. This dishonest practice is one the State consumer protection will be made aware of. I asked for an adjustment to my bill and was told the manger had to authorize the adjustment and he had gone home for the day. This announcement was followed by a smirk. It was about 2:30 in the afternoon. Use of this Uhaul branch should be discouraged.

When I arrived for my scheduled pick up, the staff was dealing with multiple difficult customers, seemingly without the help of a manager, and all comported themselves very professionally and did their best to solve everybody’s problems. I was impressed.

The employees were helpful getting the uhaul truck as long as you had no questions. What would make it better is if they were able to explain anything about the vehicle. I mean the one I got was 26' long and had buttons for all shorts of things would have been nice to know what they did.

We rented a 10' vehicle for a few days for a "local" move. I believe the definition of "local" should be re-evaluated for our area. We put 114 miles on a truck for ONE load of stuff. We were informed when I picked up the truck that the tires had not yet been changed over to winter tires, which ended up being a huge problem for us (and would be for anyone living in the hills). This type of maintenance should be prioritized, especially given the time of year and road conditions that had been around for approximately a week. In addition to the tires, the truck was out of alignment and pulled strongly to the right. The manager was pleasant and tried to accommodate another vehicle, but none were available. I believe it is reasonable to expect that when you pay a company for use of their equipment that the equipment in question should be properly maintained and outfitted for the conditions at hand. The gentleman who checked our vehicle back in was snarky and abrasive. We ended up returning the truck early because we were unable to get it up our driveway and had to load it by carrying things down. We were on a strict time-table and loaded as much as we could carry down, but some key items that warranted a u-haul were unable to be loaded due to the distance we had to carry them. I asked the gentleman who checked in the vehicle if our rental would be prorated since we returned it early. He responded as if I was asking the most obvious question in the world, then proceeded with extra commentary regarding the details of our rental. For example, when reviewing the charges said, "oh daaaaaamn $90 for mileage charge. Where did you go, Nenana?". Overall, it was a very disappointing interaction (mostly with returning the vehicle) and I will not be using U-haul again for any of their services.
