The bumper pull open trailer i rented had /has a faulty latch system for the ball. As I was hauling the THANKFULLY empty trailer down the road it completely popped off the ball on my truck and slammed into the under side of my SUV. I told the salesman when I returned the trailer, I wasn't given anything to fill out about the incident, or offered or asked about damage to my SUV. I rented a motorcycle trailer and truck. This was my first time doing something like this and I had never driven a trailer before, which I jokingly mentioned to the guy that is why I bought the insurance. I didn't realize that I needed to bring my own straps or buy them from uhaul to tie down the motorcycle. The guy that checked me out didn't ask. He looked bored and wasn't engaged at all with me as the customer. He didn't ask if I needed straps to tie down the motorcycle or offer any quick tips for driving a trailer. (When backing up turn the wheel the opposite direction that you normally would in order to turn the trailer in the direction that you want it to go or straighten it out) I went out to the trailer to inspect it and to see if I had any quedtions before I left by looking at the trailer. This is when I realized I needed straps. The motorcycle straps that uhaul carries aren't long enough to strap the motorcycle down in the way that is recommended on the diagram on the side of the trailer and so we improvised, but I ended up scratching the paint on the motorcycle from the ratchet of the strap. A small cloth would have been able to prevent that but I was 160 miles away from home buying a motorcycle from a stranger and didn't have access to any. Lot of lessons learned. Happy hauling!

Gas gauge doesnt go to full when filled?
The location wasn't the problem, it was the truck check out process that I had a problem with. I have never had to have my contacts called and have them answer to be allowed to rent a truck. In the past the number was just given to the U-Haul representative in the event I needed to be contacted and they couldn't get a hold of me on my number. It made me feel like a criminal and was grossly inconvenient because no one knew to expect a phone call from a random number. When they did call my contacts, it would only ring twice and then they would hang up. One of my contacts said they got a text with information that they would get called after they got the call. It took me 30 minutes from my pick up time to actually get into the vehicle and go where I needed to be and caused me to be 30 mins late. Why go through the process of making someone take a current picture, a picture of the front and back of their ID, and give alternate contact info, only to need to call TWO different contacts and not allow the rental to proceed until BOTH of the contacts pick up? This is a ridiculous process and should be revisited. Not happy with my experience at all.
Your online self return AND Uhaul App, were unable to help me drop off after hours. Location services, failed, repeatedly. Changed my phone settings, etc., nothing worked. Overall, appreciate the staff and quality of this location. Will use again.

I was able to take care of the business end even when I wasn't able to physically be there. There were no hassles or hang-ups and everything went smoothly!
The Fort Atkinson High St. staff were very friendly and helpful. U-Haul as a company on the other hand is a whole different story. The online scheduling system is a disaster and you must know that no reservation is guaranteed until the equipment is actually in your hands. I lucked out and simply had my reservation moved 40 miles away to this location. I almost had my reservation cut too short for what I needed, but after hours on hold and speaking to many service representatives I was able to get sorted out. However, I had multiple friends who's reservations were canceled on them completely within hours before they were supposed to pick their trucks up. This was for reservations made approximately 6 weeks to 2 months in advance. U-Haul's policy is to reserve more trucks than they have available, and not let you know if it will be unavailable until it is too late to book with another service. I understand times are incredibly difficult right now and equipment may be in short supply, but right now this is not news. There should have been an understanding of any lack of inventory back in June as well. This is not an airline where you overbook and hope for the best. This is people relying on a service to transport their entire life in a finite amount of time within the legal constraints of leases, landlords, and closing contracts. I am very grateful to the kind customer service representatives who helped me out, but as a whole this business model they have to work under is grotesque. If they ever stop reserving trucks they don't have I'll be back, but until then I will be renting elsewhere.

The email check in was difficult to use. I was unaware of how it worked. It came to my phone which was in a different car when we returned the truck. I didnt like paying an extra $20 because we couldn't scan my phone. Not everyone is t the at tech!

Everything was perfect. Loved online check in/receipt process. Very friendly efficient worker. Paid exactly what I expected. Van was very clean and well maintained.
I was charged extra for mileage Because I had to go back and forth getting appliances because I didn't receive my rental equipment that I was promised and that caused a big problem and I told the customer service representative about that and I still got charged extra don't think that was fair.
Lots of confusion by staff trying to add insurance payment on top of a prepaid order. Took 15+ minutes and a phone call to resolve for what seems like a pretty basic workflow.
Fix your website. The trucks are fine and the people at the location are helpful. The website gave me the Mexican grocery store location and the email gave me the High St location. When I reserved the truck I was sent the online check in, so I checked in. Then we went to pick up the truck but there were no instructions for picking up the key. We had just done this about 30 days ago so we thought we knew what to do. I had to call, which was a 20 minute wait, then the phone employee was rude in how she told me I wasn't supposed to check in online, I was supposed to do a mobile check in. I had clicked the link you had sent, and it looked the same as the one I did last month. And both ways are online. She sent me inside to check in, and that lady explained that there was another location nearby and how to get there. By the time we got the truck, we could only have it 3 hours instead of 4. It was a huge hassle. Both times I used uhaul the truck was great but the website and pick up process is long and tedious due to missing links, misinformation, wrong links/information, and then slow and rude phone customer service. I am ready to go farther away to get a truck from another company just to avoid the headaches, next time.
