This was the absolute worse uhaul location I have ever been to. First I'll start by when I first pulled in. The parking spots for customers are directly in front of the building which normally wouldn't be a problem except when they also place the drop of booth directly behind the parking spots. I had no idea where to go, once we parked the truck and trailer where the signs said, me and several other people were blocking at least two people from being able to back out of their parking spots and leave. It was very nerve-racking and confusing. Finally I went inside because no one came out to help or check me in. When I walked in it was just as confusing. There was no order at all. Boxes and things laying everywhere, it wasn't clear where I needed to go and still no one has spoken a word to me. I wait in line forever behind one person just to have the lady tell me to go outside and "he" will check me in. I Went back outside and stood around for at least 5 minutes. I finally saw a lady and told her the lady inside told me a man would be out here to help me but that I couldn't locate anyone. She snapped back at me saying she would help me in a minute. Finally the man walked up. Never said anything to me and took the keys. He got in the truck and turned it on. Then got back out of the truck and went inside. Again....without saying a word. He came back out after about 5 minutes. And the whole time I was waiting there was a little old lady asking me to please move the uhaul and trailer so they could get out. Aaahhhhh!!!!! So I asked him if he could move it for her and he did. Then again left and started helping another customer. I'm still waiting because no one has said a word to me and I have no idea if I'm even done or not. at this point I asked him if I was done and he asked if I wanted a receipt. I said yes and he went inside. I decided to follow him in and here is where I was treated even more rudely by 3 employees. They chatted amongst themselves and talked over me when I tried to make light conversation of the huge traffic jam and confusion. Nobody even acknowledged I was speaking. Finally the receipt printed and he set in on the counter and continued his conversation with the other employees. I had to ask HIM if we were finished and he waived me off with his hand and said yeah your done. I will never deal with uhaul again because of this horrible experience and I will definitely never recommend this location to any of my friends or family.

We were told that we could expect 10 - 12 MPG but experienced 8 and believe this to be unusual. There was a button on the dash to activate/deactivate something to do with towing...? We are under the impression that this may have been ingauged and should not have been - we received no instruction on its use.

Upon arrival, we were greeted but quickly after that ignored for the rest of the time. I was informed that we had gone over our mileage allowance and that it would be another $12.00 and "how would I like to pay". Nothing friendly about it. We came at closing time so we ended up locked in and weren't told until we asked where we could get out. For the price, I don't think all the hassle I had to go through in order to get the truck was worth it. I will contact another truck rental place next time. Price was just to high.

I wonder what is the point in reserving equipment in advance. The truck I requested was not available so a larger one was supplied at no extra cost. Also the car dolly I had requested was not available so I was forced to use a full size transport trailer that l'm sure weighed at least three times what the dolly did. Eventually the staff agreed to give me the trailer at the same cost as the dolly however I'm certain I spent considerably more in fuel than I would have with the equipment I had originally reserved. Also was told the fuel level was at full when it was actually under 3/4 and had to have the paperwork corrected.

when i rented my trailer i did not recieve my dolly that i had placed, also i was given false information on what can fit in the trailer so now i have to rent another trailer to get the rest of my things

I was loaded onto a trailer that lights did not work wasted almost 3 hours for them to troubleshoot and do wiring work. After finally getting on the road which caused me to miss my family dinner I start down the road calm down and go to plug in my phone and turn on the radio neither worked. Everyone there was nice so it has potential to be a great location just my experience was horrible

Make sure the truck odometer is correct. I noticed my odometer reading did not match that listed on my contract (about 230 miles off) shortly after leaving the U-Haul center. I immediately called and reported the error. At check-in time it took 45 minutes to make the adjustment to the actual miles driven and make the charges correct.

There's nothing could have been better unless it was free. And the bathroom was decorated beautifully and so clean. Uhaul on Towson in Fort Smith ,Ar. is where I send everyone I know!!! The manager, Billy treats you like family. I Love it!!!

We are extremely disappointed with our experience. We live in Arkansas, our truck was wrecked in Illinois by a family member. We had to get it back home. We gave the clerk all the information she asked for, told her what we had to do. Assuming that she knew what she was doing, we took the trailer and traveled 8 hours to get the truck to find out that the trailer was too small. We loaded the truck as best we could and began traveling back to Arkansas the next morning. About 30 minutes into the drive we could only go about 30 miles per hour and decided to stop and get a larger trailer.Well...come to find out, that was the largest trailer available. We had to hire a wrecker $200.00 to come to the truck stop where we were and take the truck off the trailer, remove the back tires let all the air out of the front tires and then we still had to rig the truck so that it would stay on the trailer. We had originally rented the trailer for 2 days but due to all the complications we could not get it back on the second day. We returned it on Monday and not only did they not give us any kind of discount because of their mistake, but they charged us another day and overcharged us at that. After I realized what they did, I called and they gave us a credit for the overcharge on the third day. But not one time did anyone apologize or offer any kind of discount.

There was a tire pressure warning message displayed. It took me over half the trip before I was able to clear the message and see the odometer. I'd suggest making sure that the error messages are cleared before the customer starts using the vehicle.

I felt so sorry for the man that checked me in. He was alone and had lots of customers that he was doing his best to serve. He was great. The owner/manager of the Ft. Smith place needs to get more help or let the sales agent we had work full-time. U-Haul corporate, you should do something or risk losing business!

I had used my credit card to reserve a uhaul for a family member. When the person returned the truck the sales person never asked how they wanted to pay and simply put the charges on my card.

The staff needs training in professionalism. When I walked up to the counter, no one immediately acknowledged me. Two of the 3 workers continued to talk even when the third one, who was sitting at the computer trying to help me, asked them to stop. The drop off location they assigned to us was not close to our destination, so we called the 800 number to see if we could drop off at a closer location. The lady on the phone said the place that had been assigned to us did not accept the equipment we needed to drop off nor was it a 24 hour drop off location. This lady was very helpful (I am sorry that I don't remember her name!) & gave us a closer location where we were able to do the drop off.
