The truck we rented was looked clean and well maintained. We made it to our fist destination to load the truck with our any problems. Once we started on our was to the second destination to unload the truck, there were some mechanical problems and the u-haul truck needed to be towed to the second destination. We called for the store where it was picked up for assistance and instructions. They sent a tow truck to tow the u-haul truck to our destination. We were able to unload the truck another towe truck picked up your u-haul truck and took it for repair.

Revise the method that employees are taught regarding the proper application of safety chains between the trailer and the towing vehicle. When safety chains are twisted to shorten their length, the sudden forces put upon those chains when a hitch breaks loose causes sudden and repeated dynamic forces to be put upon those chains which exceeds the manufacturers design and usage specifications and which may cause those chains to fail more readily and which will also greatly increase the likelihood of future failure of those chains. This may also result in increased legal liabilities for damages from improperly used and maintained safety equipment in the event of said equipment failure. -Dean James Fire department Captain, Retired.
