$140 cleaning charge was totally unexplained and unjustified. We were told when we could not return the vehicle in Carson City, that returning it to Gardnerville, nv. would include a $40 refund. No refund has been credited.

My truck was not available at the Carson City location the morning of pick up. Staff was great in finding a replacement truck in Gardnerville that same morning. Their help avoided a serious blow to our home moving operation!

I am very dissatisfied with the service . we were supposed to be able to pick up in South Lake Tahoe which we reserved a week earlier. When I called a couple days beforehand to check they said we couldn't get it there even though we had already reserved it. then they said we had to go to Gardnerville which they said was only 15 miles away.. then they said no they don't have it in Gardnerville after they reserved once again. Then they called back and said they've got it but we had to go clear over there however it wasn't 15 miles like they told us it was 40 miles.. so I am totally dissatisfied with this whole experience.

I will never rent from U-Haul again because of this location. It is part of a cheap gas station and access is very poor. I had to drive behind the gas station which had a few trailers and several junk cars parked there. I left my truck with the rented trailer attached and went inside where an elderly woman was behind the counter attending to a gas purchasing customer. I waited my turn and told her I was returning the trailer. She told me the guy wasn't there right now and I had to wait but she didn't say how long. I then asked if I should park the trailer out back. She told me to park it by the fence so I found an empty spot and parked the trailer. I had to unhook it myself (it was 93 degrees out) and just as I got it unhooked, a young man came out, loudly saying, "No, no, no, you can't leave it there. You need to park it over in the back". He was clearly agitated. I told him I had just unhooked it but my truck was still right in front of the trailer so he hooked it back up and I moved the trailer to where he wanted it (apparently they don't have any way to move trailers themselves). He unhooks the trailer, looks it over and then tells me I'm all set and can leave. I ask him if I could get a receipt showing I dropped off the trailer. He then tells me that it is all checked in through the computer and is waving his phone at me. I replied that may be the case but I'd like something for my records showing I turned it in (we all know computers can have glitches). He then tells me to go into the office and he prints out a receipt. He kind of throws the receipt at me which I thanked him for. Then, as I am walking out the door he mutters, "Paranoid much?". I turn around and ask him what he said. The elderly woman says, "He didn't say anything" and I replied that he clearly did. The young man's response was that he told me it was checked in through the computer and I didn't need a receipt. I told him that when I picked up the trailer that they said they don't trust their customers. He then said he is not like that and is honest. My reply was that is probably true but anything can happen with the computer system, that and I don't think asking for a paper receipt is unreasonable and asked him if he thought making a smart comment about be paranoid was appropriate. He then basically told me to leave which I did and told him I would be contacting U-Haul. He then said, "Go ahead, I don't care". I have recently retired from a career as a construction contractor. I learned early on how important customer service is in business. Your customer service people are your direct connection to your customer base. Rude representatives with poor attitudes will be extremely detrimental to your business. I have used U-Haul many times in the past and have always had a good experience. In fact, I first went to a closer U-haul location today and they informed me that I had to go to the other location but were very friendly and was apologetic that they couldn't receive the

Recommend this site as the preferred site in Gardnerville area. Valley Garden Center - where I picked up the car hauler trailer - was disorganized in comparison to Pacific Gas. Jimmy and his staff at Pacific Gas are great!
