Jeff VSmall location. Booked for an appliance trolley but only to find no available trolley when i got there to pick up the truck. Person behind the counter seems don’t care at all for not having what I reserved. Send me to another small location and still no appliance trolley. The third place is a proper U-Haul location and finally have a trolley. Not recommended for this location
YuHao WExtremely disappointing and unacceptable experience I was extremely disappointed with my experience with U-Haul. From the condition of the truck to the complete lack of customer service, the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. The truck I received was absolutely filthy. I had to spend an entire hour cleaning it before I felt comfortable putting any of my belongings inside. The amount of dirt and debris that came out of this truck was honestly shameful. I swept out a literal pile of dirt from the cargo area. This is a moving truck that customers are trusting to transport all of their belongings. There is absolutely no reason it should be handed over in this condition. The truck also appeared to be poorly maintained mechanically. The mirrors were unable to move, making it difficult to properly adjust them for safe visibility, and the brakes were extremely questionable. I shouldn’t have to wonder whether the vehicle I’m driving is properly maintained or safe. Unfortunately, the customer service experience wasn’t much better. I had to visit two separate U-Haul locations because the furniture dollies I had reserved were not available at the location where I had made my reservation. Having to make an additional stop on moving day was frustrating enough, but what really stood out was the lack of care and enthusiasm from the employees. The interactions felt incredibly lackadaisical, as though assisting customers was an inconvenience rather than their job. What’s interesting is that I didn’t even raise any of these issues with the employees at the time. Their complete lack of enthusiasm and customer care made it very clear to me that bringing up additional problems wasn’t going to result in a particularly helpful or productive interaction. I didn’t feel that was the appropriate forum for it, so I simply dealt with the issues myself and moved on with my day. But now that I’ve had some time to reflect on the experience, I absolutely feel it warrants mentioning. I understand that U-Haul trucks are rental vehicles and aren’t going to be brand new. I don’t expect perfection. But I do expect a vehicle to be clean, safe, properly maintained, and ready for the customer who is paying to rent it. I also expect employees to demonstrate at least a basic level of care and professionalism toward customers. Having to spend an hour cleaning someone else’s dirt out of the truck, deal with unavailable equipment that I had specifically reserved, visit multiple locations, and then drive a vehicle with questionable brakes and non-adjustable mirrors made an already stressful moving day significantly worse.
Richele HLocations were very helpful. I but wish some one had told me that the uhaul vehicle did NOT a a simple feature like cruise control. This was very disappointing on a 3400KM trip.
